what's this about? i just had a figher flew over me all thunderous and everything. pretty loud. but i dunno which fighter, but i believe shd be a f-16.

I have heard it too here in Sengkang! I think they are rehearsing for the NDP thats why the intensity of flying have increased if you have noticed.

i counted at least 3 low level runs over me now. den i look out of my window see everybody looking out also
think most likely NDP, near kallang also. -
rehearsing for NDP lar... haha, tkae out a stop watch and see how long they fly circles around for... will roughly know their combat redius after that.
Btw, they are flying clean... -
This might be a practice for the Sept Open House, only 3 F-16Cs and 2 AH-64Ds taking part. They made numerous runs, starting at about 1500 and ending about 1600.

i seen their bottoms from below, doesnt look like a f-16 to me, more like f-5

from my 14th floor home in seng kang, i can see the two apache flying round and round number of times above Paya lebar airbase.

Well, i got a very idiot guide for differentiating between F-5 n F-16... Look at the wings, if hsort, means it is F-5 then long it would be F-16... But then i usually look at the tail for identification ...
Btw, a few C-130 flew over my house today, dunnoe they got exercise or wat ... -
Believe they are rehearsing for NDP. Manage to see 2 apachi flew right outside my window from the direction of Kallang after the first burst of planes flew past. Really mean looking machines. A few minutes later, saw 3 F16s doing some tight turns towards and over the skys of Kallang stadium. (partially blocked view)
Every year, in these couple of months before NDP, no matter kallang or Padang, they will do such high power flying over my area few times a week. Used to it already. Other times, just the normal landing pattern into Paya Lebar where the engines seems to be running mostly in the minimal mode. zzzzzzz

LoL! Just listen for that very LOW RUMBLING sound. If u hear that, confirm its the F-16s. this is strange... the F-16 pic... during my time they were not allowed to fly with the ECM pod on station 2 over populated areas.

i saw 3 x f-16 flying over sbab, i see apache, chinooks, fennecs and super pumas flying everyday.

Oh, just remembered SAF day comming. Maybe it's rehersal for that too. BTW, was that fireworks I just heard about an hour ago??

Hee, as I am living near PLAB, long time ago, play a game with myself identifying aircraft flying overhead by the sound. Was basically able to ID all jet fighters and trainers Singapore uses. At least on their landing mode sounds. Long time ago liao, now dun even bother to look unless hear something different and I have nothing to do.

Question: why does the F-16 in the pic carry a centerline fuel tank? Wouldn't the internal tanks be sufficient for flying around Singapore?

I thought that was the ECM pod as mentioned?? Its external fuel tanks are mounted on the wings one right??
