Actually this human anti-tank bomb is pioneered by the Chinese during WW2. In their desperation to stop the Japanese tanks they strapped explosives to their bodies and waiting for the tanks to go over their trenches then detonate.
Besides the N Korean & Soviet Army of using dogs as some form of 'anti-tank' weapons, I read that the 1st Gulf War of 1979-1988, the Iranians (due to their religious fanatiicism or some may say desperation) convinced 'volunteer' youths to strap explosives to their body and charged under an Iraqi tank. Their sacrifice here ensures that the doors to an Islamic heaven will be 'opened' (in fact, all of them carried plastic keys with them).
I consider them real national heros, it takes real guts and steel balls to pull this off.

That is an unfair statement. This is because the Chinese at that time are in the middle of a civil war between the KMT and the Communists. They hardly have any heavy equipment. Most of the communist forces are just armed with rifles,the occassional grenades and even a broad sword! The communist calvary even fought on horseback. Machine guns are scarce, let alone anti-tank guns. So suicide bombing is one of the limited ways for them to disable a tank. The KMT troops are better armed but still unable to resist the Japs.
They are so desperate to stop the Japs because they know that should that area fall to the Japs the civilians will be very harshly treated. Men will be shot. Girls and women will be gang raped then killed. The young and the elderly will starved to death. Whole villages and towns were burned to the ground. Cities lie in ruins. -
