An interesting article, seldom see Msian analyst talking abt RSN strength. they are more worried about the Vastergotland-class subs than our frigates.
It also shows that years of training in Sweden is a critical success factor.
2 attack submarines cost US$128m seems to be a better value than 6 stealth frigates at a cost of S$1.6b.

our submarines are able to sneak in silently and destroy ships. this gives it an advantage over the frigates because u never know when they will strike, which in turn causes fear. however, the frigates are able to attack land targets too, unlike the submarines.
it's not good to generalise whether the money is well spent or not because they are used in different roles -

I think they are more concerned abt the RSN Subs being a security problem to their own navy lar. Not as a threat to SEA as a whole.
