Fearless Class Patrol Vessel

The first six vessels are armed with triple tube 324mm B515 torpedoes launchers from Whitehead Alenia. The torpedoes are the A244S also supplied by Whitehead Alenia.

The second six vessels are configured for anti-surface warfare. They were to be fitted with the Gabriel II short to medium range anti-ship missile supplied by IAI, but this project has been abandoned. Gabriel II uses dual mode semi-active and active radar homing and is armed with a 100kg warhead. The range is from 6 to 36km and the missile velocity is 0.6 Mach.
I think from the above information, it is possible that our PV can be equipped with anti-ship missiles in times of war. Most probably Gabriel missiles will be used. This is because some patrol vessels are designed with the 'fitted for but not with' concept. I suspect our PV are also designed in a similar fashion.

The first six vessels of the class, Fearless (94), Brave (95), Courageous (96), Gallant (97), Resilience (98 ) and Unity (99), are armed for anti-submarine warfare missions. The remaining six vessels, Resilience (82), Unity (83), Sovereignty (84), Justice (85), Freedom (86) and Independence (87), are patrol vessels. -

Discussing warships, isn't lame. In fact, warships do play a very large part in history. The Battle of Yalu, where Chinese (state of the art, yes,at tt time) Beiyang Naval fleet fought with the Japs. The result of the War made China well, suffer alot. Such a big n lengthy part here, how can it be considered, lame n waste of time? -

Wat do u guys think we replace e Mistral with a CIWS like e Typhoon gun system on e PV/APV since e OTO Melara 76MM has longer range then Mistral
