CHINA -- China's military buildup is increasingly aimed at projecting power far beyond its shores into the western Pacific to be able to interdict U.S. aircraft carriers and other nations' military forces, according to a Pentagon report released Tuesday.

My sentiments exactly. Post WW2 USA has been a blessing and a curse at the same time to differrent people.Originally posted by banzie:another of America's Properganda... how come no one says america is the threat to numerous nations... example iraq...
Some places they left it worse off than when they found it. A case of "yue bang yue mang".A curse shouldered by powers everywhere in whatever form it comes ? Perhaps, the Australians and Portuguese are thinking of the same very thing in Timor Leste right now.
China growth is incredible and it is this growth that finance China military modernisation..Originally posted by Arthas79:I think the US is underlining the threat posed by China several times and unnecessarily. China`s growth is fantastic but she would`nt be a worthy rival (of the US)for quite some time.
How China is going to be tear a part? It has a powerful central government which is same like the Congress of US. It obvious pass of power from one chairman to another chairman clearly demonstrates the centralising of power of communist China.. China is not rules by one man but by a strong party with clear minded head on which direction will take it to superpower!Originally posted by Arthas79:This is entirely far-fetched. But I feel that China, like many other great powers before her(or after her considering her rich history) would fall victim to the intricate web of power brinkmanship at play at various levels in world politics.[/quote]
How foreign power is going to influence China in decision making? A country who attains 4th largest economy in the world?? PRC is party is highly centralise and power doesn't just fall in one person like North Korea...Originally posted by Arthas79:With a powerful economic of China, which nation in this globlanisation world don want to make money? That is the reason why USA is successful in the first place, right? Soviet Union is never a capitalism country and never reach the economic lvl of PRC.. With South Korea being disillusion of US policy of supporting Japan more than South Korea over WWII atrocities issue and territory rights. South Korea may side PRC soon! Russia hate US more than China... Having been the arch rival during cold war and recently trying to steal its sphere of influence in central Asian and Ukarine. Russia rather makes friend with China than US and clearly shown by opposing every policy of US and support China. As China is stronger and stronger each day with economic and military, more countries is looking upwards at China. Middle east countries are a good start...
[b]I do not think that China would have much friends as she becomes more powerful and create more suspicion instead. ASEAN would turn to the US together with Japan, South Korea, India and the two oceanic countries. In addition, Russia, like the English Empire before her would become the US`s bosum friend as the whole of Siberia could come under gigantic China`s shadow. Meanwhile, Europe would still be America`s. Who could China have? Pakista, North Korea, Iran? Not exactly the best group of guys you would have at the dinner table.

The little emperors who China has been nurturing would be her own undoing. Just as they are proud of China, they would invariably evolve thier own way of thinking of how China should be run. Perhaps, more liberal than what it is currently. Outside powers would be more than happy to jockey for power and influence among the various centres for power. I think China faces a greater danger internally than outside than ever before. History could still repeat itself as she has for centuries.
