Other applications of SAF artillery guns?

I think it is technically feasible to allow our land-based 155mm artillery guns to engage seaborne targets. I supposed a change in the type of ammunition used should do the trick. So are our gunners ever trained to fire at seaborne targets?
In fact there are already plans to install 155mm guns instead of the conventional naval guns of smaller calibre, on naval ships for coastal bombardment. Here are some examples.

I think normal arty rounds can really damage ships these days. With all the stuff topside....any hit wld take out some sensors at least!

Hmm... it'll be harder, for you need to engage individual targets when it comes to ships. It's not exactly the same as land targets, where you lay down a barrage on shells on a certain area where the enemy is.
I'm not sure about what kind of targeting systems our arty use. But if it's good enough, and with enough HEAT shells, yeah I guess it's feasible. -

With ICMs i think should be no problem damaging exposed ship systems.

It is possible, the larger the target the better. I suppose AP shells are out. HESH or HEAT better.
Note to sink a ship, the aim is to burst as many watertight compartments as possible. -

Not likely the recoil will warp the decks. 155mm class guns are more shore based.

No cos most of our ships is 2 small 2 handle e recoil n stability problem , only frigate or larger size ships can overcome these problem

I belief that the cargo round, packed with bomblets will be a better choice over the airbursting munition, for this will enable the bomblets to actually deploy unlike the airbursting munition which actually only releases sharpnel, not gonna do any major damage to a ship as its made of metal

seriously, it'll be real difficult to hit a moving target 30 odd km away with a missle already, why use an unguided arty shell?

Tat depend on wat e enemy ship is doing, if it is bombarding e shore off e coast then arty got a reasonable chance of sinking a stationally target

Firing platform - unstable (unless land based), recoil is a major issue but any tile/cant will send shells miles off course. Guns have spirit levels which are not very useable afloat.
Shell - need AP shells to have any effect, forget cargo loads or cluster bomblets against armoured surfaces.
Tragectory - need a computer just to calculate objects on water (not quite same for land targets with known reference points), naval gunnery is a whole different ball game (any naval gunners comment?) -

Heard tat our super-rapid 76MM has a max range of 13KM VS ground targets n 7KM VS aerial targets, but other sources say its 20KM VS ground target so which is correct?
