Hmmm.... the last time went tiong bahru plaza few day ago they run out of ghost grey leh , where else got sellOriginally posted by CenturionMBT:we are using 3 tone grey. as far as i know, there are no tamiya equivalent yet.
the four-color scheme has FS 36118 (gunship gray) for the major portion of the upper surfaces; FS 36320 (dark ghost gray) for the radome; FS 36270 (neutral gray) for the vertical stabilizer, near the cockpit, the ventral fins and the top of the intake structure; and FS 36375 (light ghost gray) for the underside. Although this is the RSAF scheme, I have seen at least one picture of a USAF F-16 painted the same way.
For illustration sake, here is a model of an rsaf F-16 (not mine). I labelled the areas for you.
hmmm if i were to do that, i use airbrush. But you can try taking a piece of paper, cut out the shape, lift it 1 mm above the surface and spray with your spray can.Originally posted by Unidentified:From your F-16 pic , how do that make the colour in the way that from neutral grey to gunship grey got a fad-ing effect
Erm... me not to the standard of spray can and they are expensive tooOriginally posted by CenturionMBT:hmmm if i were to do that, i use airbrush. But you can try taking a piece of paper, cut out the shape, lift it 1 mm above the surface and spray with your spray can.
do you think using coloured spray can will work as well ?Originally posted by CenturionMBT:if you use paint brush, you won't be able to get that feathery effect.
You can try miniature hobbies at marina square, they might have some mr colour paint.[/list]
sorry but what amraam and sidewinderOriginally posted by CenturionMBT:for sidewinders, it is gunmetal for the head, light ghost grey or any light grey for the body. Personally i use flat gull grey with a few drops of white. XF-19 also can be used.
For the amraam, it is white head and a dark grey body. For this instance, you can use neutral grey or you can use flat gull grey darkened with black.
This is a sidewinder....Originally posted by Unidentified:sorry but what amraam and sidewinder

for tamks well, hard to tell you what to do becos you dun have airbrush. But the thing is the tanks look at their best when they have a dirty/dusty look. So you can try using pastel chalk dust to produce the effect. You can try preshading, meaning painting the panel lines and engine covers black before spray painting, but most likely the spray can would have covered up the paint by the time you finished your first pass.Originally posted by Unidentified:Im thinking of trying out tanks or artillery , any comment or tips for me ?
so i think i better stick with aircraft 1st , anyway , any recomendation of 1:72 nice looking aircraft i can go hunt for ?Originally posted by CenturionMBT:for tamks well, hard to tell you what to do becos you dun have airbrush. flAt white, flat red, and flat Black. These 3 should do. Though if you intend to do models on long term, try getting an airbrush. Cheaper on the long term.Originally posted by gd4u:Whew, finally finish building my V-22, but some of the gap filing parts quite badly done ... beginner nly .. tt's y ...
