PLAAF in Shanghai

As some of you know, I live in Shanghai.
I moved to a new apartment and every now and then, I fear jet fighters cruise by, among the blare of train horns and rumble of river barge engines.
I finally was able to take a passable pic with my non-zoom camera.
Can anyone identify?
It's a single tail fin so it's not SU-27 or SU-30. -

JH-7A Fighter-bomber belongs to 28th Air Division based in Hangzhou, just hundred Kms away from shaanghai

They usually fly pretty slow probably not to make too much noise over the city.
Sino Defence listed a PLANAF unit operating JF7/A in Shanghai. I see them quite often so they are probably Shanghai-based as opposed to Hangzhou-based.
It's quite a beautiful, though slightly dated-looking aircraft. Looks like a Jaguar and reminds me of our F-5E though much bigger and twin engined.

LOL! Who knows, maybe that was just his impromptu shots. Haven whip out his 27x teleoptic lense yet. Sekali his "TV" antennae already recorded down the radar emission of the JH-7 liao.

I think the paint scheme on the top few pics I posted are beautiful aren't they? The lettering and emblem in simple black lines. Looks very American.
Remember the PLA plane that rammed the US spy plane not too long ago? Does anyone remember what model aircraft was it? -

Hmmm there appears to be some discrepancies from website to website regarding the J8.

One of the pictures on the 2nd page featured an early J-8 with a MiG-21 style intake. -
Well, maybe we should say the J8 is based on both Mig23 & Mig21Â’s design, J8 is dramatically different from the J7 ( Mig21).
1st, itÂ’s powered by 2 engines instead of mig21Â’ 1.
2nd, its typical for “ high speed, high altitude” intercepting role with speed exceeding Mach2.2 and ceiling over 20000M
BTW, itÂ’s long time rumored that Egypt secretly exported 1 of its Mig23 to china in exchanging for more J7 fighters in 19070s or 1980s. -

The Chinese and Russians went through a rough patch relationship-wise and had many skirmishes along the border. During one skirmish, a Russian T-72 crossed a river and "drowned".
The PLA quickly retrieved it and shipped it secretly to Shanghai where it was dismantled and copied.
