I have not fought with the MAF but common sense will tell you that in any conflict, there WILL be casualties. Even the mighty US is having mounting casualties in Iraq against a supposedly inferior ragtag militia.
So unless you are telling me that you are some veteran with inside info, if not don't even attempt to try & convince me that the MAF can march into S'pore with no casualties or little casualties. -
I was under the impression that the source coces were used to modify the onboard electronics and computers for the aircraft. An engineering process. I didn't know that without the source code u can't load targetting and navigation data..............

Take for example Iranian F-14s, F-4s and F-5s which played a major role in the 8 year conflict with Iraq in the 1980s, providing not only air defence but also ground attack. At that point of time, Iraq was viewed as a de-facto ally against the ruling Iranian Ayatollah regime, yet Iran was still able to effectively employ its mainly American built arsenal against Iraq.
Another case to note is Venezuela, where its relations with the US have not been exactly cosy recently, yet its F-16s are still very much operational, abeit on a reduced basis, but nevertheless their potential to be used in any conflict should not be discounted.
If Malaysia's fleet of F/A-18s cannot be used readily, the same could be said for our F-16s, or the F-16s of the Royal Thai Air force for that matter. Source code issues are indeed relevant for modifying existing aircraft to carry other kinds of foreign weapons, such as Israeli missiles on F-16s, but firing and launching existing weapons already cleared for carriage should not be a problem at all. It would seem illogical for the US to clear every missile launch for a country involved in a high intensity conflict. -
Pls don't compare Iran to Malaysia,Iran is a country of rich history and civilisation! They have better pool of talent and Technology in terms of military wise. While for Malaysia? ZERO!!! Even their proton Saga is a cheap buy off the self from Mitsubishi out-dated model! exactly. in truth and reality, even though we know MY is way behind us in economic and almost everything, we are still scared of the leaders there. Even LKY an SM at tat time got to go and intervene in talks between the two countries. although singapore have a huge force but i doubt it can hold msia attacks for more then 24 hours...
we've got no defensive terrain we will just die if they attack us with 50% force even if our army counter attack into their country we will still lose
so dont worry there will be no war in singapore its wont benefit any of us as in sg or msia...its just all talk no action
