The UN in it's current state is toothless.In a perfect world, UN divisions of airborne troops would have secured Darfur and expelled the Janjaweed militia within 4 months , without the approval of that illegitimate government in Khartoum. -
There is no country in the world that is totally undefended.
The Maldives may be technically independent but their defence is taken care of by India.
Mauritius has a standing police force and coast guard that doubles as a defence establishment. It does not have an army per se but if you consider it's economic size etc, it's still got quite a good force to defend what it's got.
Monaco is defended by France. Liechtenstein is taken care of by Switzerland.
Tuvalu, by New Zealand. All other microstates have defence arrangements, usually with the UK or the USA. -
It may be possible if taking over you is more a libility more then an asset, when u have no or very very very little resources, no $,keeping your ppl alive a already 1 major problem ,site in 1 far far corner with no part in play in e world in another word a forgotten world maybe in e south pole

liechtenstein has no army at all . It is a tiny little country between austria and switzerland . All defences are dependent on switzerland as well as the alps

actually, what i see about the premise of armies started from:
i'm suspicious of my neighbour so i go buy a dagger
he sees me and becomes suspicious of my intentions and buys a sword
i become convinced of his "intentions" and i go buy a crossbow
he becomes scared and goes and buys a gun
i worry about him coming over and shooting me, i go buy a shotgun
he doesn't want to feel vulnerable and guys an assault rifle
then one day, his son smashes into my son while playing football.... -

i think they are the biggest country without an army. -

UN talk only..but the controlling power is the US..basically if u are an ally to the US u will get some kind of protection

Wales is part of the United Kingdom and is under the umbrella of the British Armed Forces. anyway Sealand does not have an army... at most only a security guard armed with a shotgun, one-man-army
