Yup! It also helps to have a steady trigger finger and good breathing techniques. A working knowledge of how atmospheric conditions affect projectile ballistics is also advantageous, as you often have to offset your aim to compensate for wind, temperature and humidity conditions, especially when you're trying to keep your shots within a dime-sized bullseye at 200 yards.Originally posted by Ah Cek:it takes a lot of patience to become a sniper

An AR-type rifle outfitted for long-range target work is usually significantly heavier than a stock M16 or M4. The longer, heavier ('bull') barrel, free-floating aluminium handguard, optics, buttstock counterweight and bipod all add to the overall weight. For example, the target AR in my previous post weighs in at approximately 14.5 lbs. (about 6.6 kg.) without the magazine.
Fortunately, I don't have to lug it around like I would a combat rifle. -
