Thanks Alert5!
One thing for certain, at least everyone now knows what happened to them and will not classify them as 'MIA'! Btw, it seems they also failed their mission! hahaha
But on a serious note and learning from the vid, I wonder how come the US is not having a plan to coordinate armed Predators with heavy armored vehicle/s - in the form of a Bradley or Iraqi M113 (as a 'bait') crewed either by just one driver or better thru remote-control and having the latter lure these so-called insurgents out in the open to engage the latter?
As it is real time, surely any firefights will be captured 'live' and insurgents movements (regardless of where they are hiding or buildings they are shooting from) will be 'captured' by the Predator. With that, it will serve a couple of purposes -
1) as a warning to any village/town that harbous insurgents that the coalition is able and is willing to engage the insurgents EVEN if the insurgents is shooting from a school, for example, in their compound. If the insurgent-sympathetic village leaders or province cry foul, show them the vid (that the coalition is not deliberately targetting 'innocent' civilians) and challenge them that the insurgents are not operating in their area.
2) If the insurgents love to destroy coalition vehicles and soldiers, make things easier for them, present them the vehicles to shoot at! Lure them out, let
THE HUNTER BECOME THE HUNTED. 3) In the eventuality of a real convoy, at least the insurgents will re-calculate whether the convoy is a bait or a Predator is lurking nearby. Even though, it is not believed the insurgents will stop or decrease their attacks on convoys, but at least the stake for them (not getting killed) has become higher now. Remember, the insurgents (not including suicide bombers) is interested to kill coalition troops
BUT NOT GETTING KILLED THEMSELVES.
4) MOST IMPORTANTLY, the firefights is now at the timing (and possibly preference) as dictated by the coaltion and not at the choosing by the insurgents.Thought anyone?
