Same number of flight crew but big increase in payload capability.One way to do more with less people.
Meaning more heavylift(CH-47) than mediumlift(SP) transport heli in our Orbat.
2 types of transport heli(CH-47, SP) rather than 3 types(CH-47,SP,Blackhawk?).
Replace SuperPuma with Blackhawk when their time is up so as to achieve commonality with Navy Seahawks.
Good idea ?
Look at the amount of sterling work they did during the Tsunami and Katrina crisis.
Why not convert 120 Sq into a heavylift outfit ?

chinook for heavy lift lah but so far there are many operations that dun always require heavy lift so burning the fuel on a chinook to do light duty dunno cost effective or not.
But I read somewhere old uh-1h can convert into light gunship so still got some pratical value there -

Light duty can be perform by Superpuma.
With the introduction of heli-borne artillery pieces such as LWSH & SRAM on Spider. You need more heavylift heli to transport not only the guns, but also to resupply them with those heavy 155 & 120mm shell.
What I am advocating is instead of having more light/medium heli & less heavylift heli like everbody else. We have a 50/50 ratio.
We will be able to do more with less. -
120 sqn is the apache
there's no need for replacement for helicopters at the time being because the pumas are almost full strength. -

There is still a need for small copter maybe UH-60 like madiavc a Puma can do tat also but u dun need a puma 2 airlift 1 man , fuel cost $ bigger copter= bigger enigne=burn more fuel n bigger downwash .Imagine a CH-47D/SD e man will be kill by it downwash as branch all start flying around like missile

puma is good but I think quite costly somemore I heard ah last time we got our UH for almost free or peeka lao sai maybe refurbished condition like aid package or something. And until unless we can get chinook or puma deal at firesale prices I dun think can expect replacement for UH soon lor.
See, outside selling 2nd hand UH-1H for almost 3million dollars, then the better puma will cost us hw much to replace for all? if need few hundred million then buy helicopter carrier better lar
at least can still use UH for seaborne operation mah then F16 can land and CBG .... 
Anyway even if they are thinking to replace the UH I believe they will get the license to assemble for EC-130 or EC-135 lar, just like what they did for the EC-120.

currently SP will take over all the sai kang roles, to make it sound nicer... the backbone of the helicopter force. -

looking at logistics, it will not save cost, it will incur more spending to maintain the extra aircrafts. -

I was thinking, could the EC155 be used? I know that so far, EC155 have only been used in civillian ops. But there chance for it to enter the military ??
