Just show us the official data that indicates your SAM got a range of 60km .lip service does not represent any scientific jobOriginally posted by arjun:Is the range of SA-6 is 60 Km?
No offense, but just becaused it's used by the Indian armed forces doesn't necessarily means its good. the Indian Air Force still uses MIG21s and they are dropping like flies.Originally posted by arjun:I am an Indian. Let me make some adjustments to the avatar etc so that no one gets confused.
And if you are asking me why I am not doing an impartial assesment, then let me tell you that the Akash sytem is a very capable system and is accepted by the Indian Army, Airforce. It will be Cheap and by the kind of friendship existing b/w Singapore and India, SP may even get to licence produce the missile in Singapore.
No offense, but just becaused it's used by the Indian armed forces doesn't necessarily means its good. the Indian Air Force still uses MIG21s and they are dropping like flies. The Mig's were accepted in the 1970's and it was a great success in India.
LCA to replace all Mig-21 will be a failure if even happen will be a costly one! First,it uses GE F404 engine which is F**king ex and will raise the cost of LCA which already defeat the purpose of building LCA! LCA is meant to be a indigenous fighter with its own engine and mid-price. But with running into engine problem and avonics integration problem which badly need foreign assist. It will not be an indigenous fighter anymore.Plus cost rise which will not make it appealing for export!Originally posted by arjun:The Mig's were accepted in the 1970's and it was a great success in India.
The falling of Mig's has stopped. It was because of some problems with the engine and it is rectified now. The Indian Migs are also modified. The Mig-21's are old. They will be replaced with the LCA's and the MRCA.

LCA is kept on delay and delay... Nothing is comfirmed until really accept in service.Exactly, The Indian Airforce has ordered for 40 LCA's and they are under production.
As someone mention, just becos India Armed Force accept its servcie doesn't meant it is great. It is because India cannot accept any system that is of low quality since India has two neighbours who has fought wars with India and the same may happen at any time. So the quality of weapons systems will never be compromised. When they accept a system it must be top of the class.
LOL!!! Yr name already tells me a system induct into India armed forces and is in bad quality, totally irrelevant! ARJUN MBT is a great example. Don't try to bluff yrself. Arjun is overweight and the system fail under the harsh environment near the border ard Pakistan.. India armed force induct Arjun into the service just to save face for India. Later they T-90 will still be the main force of India and not their Arjun.Originally posted by arjun:It is because India cannot accept any system that is of low quality since India has two neighbours who has fought wars with India and the same may happen at any time. Yes they can buy the engine from US but the avionics problem has no bidder so far and u can't just buy a system from foreign source and put it in,u need time and testing of it. It will NOT MAKE IT in scedule and be delay which means it will not be combat ready, plus even inducted,it will just another BUY product and no pride of India tech...Pls provide facts and not just MADE IN INDIA and everything will be good!
The LCA project is running very smoothly. There is problem with the engines and that will be rectified soon and even the first batch of LCA (around 40) of them which will be with the GE engine will be replaced by the Kaveri.

Yr name already tells me a system induct into India armed forces and is in bad quality, totally irrelevant! ARJUN MBT is a great example. The Arjun MBT is one of the best MBT's of the world. It is of good quality with the latest tech and can be put in the same category as the MIA1.
Arjun is overweight and the system fail under the harsh environment near the border ard Pakistan. It is true that during tests in the Thar desert where the temperature reaches 60 degrees Arjun engine has failed. It was later rectified. Let me also remind you that a similar test was conducted on the T-90 and it also failed the test. Bring any of your Chinesese tanks and it will also fail the tests.
India armed force induct Arjun into the service just to save face for India. Later they T-90 will still be the main force of India and not their Arjun. The Arjun induction was slow because the army pointed to many changes for the tank and it took time to correct the problems. The main reason for going in for the T-90 is the cost of the Tank. Arjun costs 3 times that of the T-90. So for numerical superiority the army preferred the T-90. For qualitative edge they will be using the Arjun. The army has issued statements saying that the Arjun and the T-90's will be the MBT's of IA.
Did u read quote i paste from yr dear official website of India armed forces? You mean BR. It is not the official website. Except that it contains large information on Indian as well as world military. Regarding the report let me remind you that it appeared in a newspaper. No one knows for sure how true is this report. Before the first flight of the LCA there were even reports of LCA being cancelled and it is not going to fly and many such negative reports which were all false.
It will NOT MAKE IT in scedule and be delay which means it will not be combat ready, plus even inducted,it will just another BUY productYou will say the same thing again and again even when it is inducted into the IAF. I will like to remind you that we are developing something from scratch. It may be very easy for a nation which has a sound aviation industry to finish a product. We are on our own and we are determined to succeed. The successful flight of LCA is one of the milestones in Indian aviation and military industry. After the success of LCA you will see many more aircrafts like the MCA already under design taking of the sky within a short period of time. The spinoff's from the LCA is immense from a trainer aircraft IJT (The Sitara) was designed and flown within a record time. It is said that they had created artificial legs for disabled people using the lightweight composite material used to create the wings of the LCA. Some of the Radar warning receivers (Tarang) etc developed for LCA was even used on the Sukhoi-30 MKI's.
with regard to Indian AFÂ’s prosperity? You provided a link to a 2003 news on LCA. I had provided a link to the latest news which says that LCA will be inducted at the earliest by the IAF.
When was Hawk advanced jet trainer commissioned? In 2003 as you said? Actually, the article I posted is last July news, see the link below:The Hawk is not commissioned into the IAF. It will be inducted in 2003. There were reports that the kits and parts have arrived in HAL and they will start assembling the Planes and the first batch of them will be handed over to the IAF in the year 2007 onwards.
