Hi, nice to meet you.Originally posted by black_ops7:Hi,
A newbie here in this forum. Heard Sheares are marketing the Oakley (military) for military personnel (Regular only).
Not sure whether are they the sole distributor for the military Oakley, but my unit are taking order, based on 1 pair per order.
Eh...Don't apologize lehOriginally posted by black_ops7:Hi lwflee,
I'm sorry that by making my first post here on that topic makes you think that i'm someone from Sheares and are trying to take that as a "commercial opportunity" for Sheares, then i shouldn't have post it in the first place.
My intent was to ask whether any members here did come across of Oakley military sunnies being market here in Spore, as i know they're hard to come by.
r u in special unit or what? if u can't even say this which is not classified then why do u post in the first place? look not asking full details...just like 1 SIR etc...even if u r SOF u can say special forces n period.Originally posted by black_ops7:Hi Moonstriker and triggersgd,
Sorry, to prevent any misunderstanding here, i don't think it's appropriate for me to answer your questions.
Thank you and Kind Regards.
Actually, Oakley lenses are supposed to exceed the standards required for safety glasses. ANSI z87.1 or something ??? I do not think there are any problems with their lenses. The problem with them will be cost.Originally posted by Shotgun:Sheares have been selling those oakleys for quite a while already. Saw it on their shelves for a long time alr.
Strange thing, why would SAF go through sheares if its an official purchase. They would usually got straight to the supplier don't u think?
Personally, i wouldnt go for the Oakleys. 2 reason. Most of their M-Frames don't look too good on asian faces. (LOOKS WISE)
2nd reason, they are not combat proven. First of all, some might want, "wat heck, sunglasses? wad combat proven?" If u want to wear a pair of sunglasses, it shud do 2 things, protect ur eyes from UV rays, and prevent ur eyes from taking physical damage. For that, i haven't read of any "acclaims" for oakley's products, so someone correct me if im wrong.
Instead, recently, I went for the ESS ICE 2.4 system instead. FIrst of all, its a hell lot cheaper. 2nd, its GOOD, real polycarbonate lenses. US Army units have already been issued ESS products in Iraq, and many of them have written back to commend ESS on their products that save their vision when IEDs blew up in their faces, chamber explosions etc. Because the US Army has already included it as standard issue, all their products already have NSN numbers. IF SAF was to make such a purchase, i would think they would go for ESS instead, since it would be easily integrated into the current logistic system.
black_ops7, u still wanna go for oakleys?
yes, ESS goggles have been used by the US troops in iraq and yes there are better than the ones of oakley and yes, they are also much cheaperOriginally posted by Shotgun:Sheares have been selling those oakleys for quite a while already. Saw it on their shelves for a long time alr.
