well i still dont know... it is a toy gun and toy guns falls only fall under CONTROLLED ITEMS and not actuall arms. it falls under CONTROLLED ITEMS which include Boomerangs. I dont know that Boomerangs are controlled here too. controlled item need clearence from A&E Dept... but what is the criteria for approval? - they never says.Originally posted by zoik:cold_Zero: Rather than draw lines, they draw large nets around, as a 'catch all'.
This does include Airsoft as it does discharge something - it didnt necessarily have to be a bullet, plastic ball or a metal one.
Airsoft also clearly goes into the 'Imitation' category as they are copies, many of which are licenced, of the real weapons, even if the material and the internals are clearly not.
But i actually managed to bring in a AEG mp5 fully assembled. What i did was to ask the sender to label it as a toy. So i was wondering if i could get a bolt action rifle in broken down. I was considering between VSR-10 gspec from tokyo marui and the vrs-11 from HFC. Furthermore the store that i got my stuff from will help you "increase" ur chances of bringing in.Originally posted by cold_Zero:If I am right, it's the VSR-11 made by HFC right? It will be seize by customs even if it's the butt only. It's too big and it will attract attention.
By the way, anyone ever have their airsoft seized by customs? What happen next?
1. he referred to HFC gas. Unless its red/CO2 gas, HFC nearly always refers to either HFC134a or HFC22 gas.Originally posted by cold_Zero:If I am right, it's the VSR-11 made by HFC right? It will be seize by customs even if it's the butt only. It's too big and it will attract attention.

well, rather than saying it is banned outright, Airsoft IS a controlled item, and deemed to be sufficiently similar to real firearms, if only by its looks and faux operation.Originally posted by cold_Zero:well i still dont know... it is a toy gun and toy guns falls only fall under CONTROLLED ITEMS and not actuall arms. it falls under CONTROLLED ITEMS which include Boomerangs. Btw, does anyone know where to get the HFC gas for airsoft in singapore, i was thinking of getting a gas powered bolt action rifle as i'm into the sniping role now.Gas sniping is rather notorious, if only because of the odd peculiarities associated with the gas itself and the operation of the gas rifle.
oh, i thought he is refering to the HFC VSR-11 Gas Model.Originally posted by zoik:LOL no, i dont think so!
1. he referred to HFC gas. Unless its red/CO2 gas, HFC nearly always refers to either HFC134a or HFC22 gas.
HFC22 is also known as Green Gas, and is thought also to be propane, or at least very similar.
The lowest power gas used in Airsoft is HFC134a, iirc is the replacement gas used in refridgeration [used to be Freon, also used in Airsoft at one time, about 20-odd years ago].
2. HFC manufacture, amongst their range, copies of Tokyo Marui's products. You are right in that the HFC make a copy of the VSR-10, and label it the VSR-11, but you are incorrect in that it is a spring-powered rifle, there is no gas usage.
HFC gas.
HFC134a is the only gas allowed on the playing fields of Japan as it keeps airsoft guns within the power limits imposed on sites.
Western Arms and Tokyo Marui designed their gas blowback and non-blowback guns around this gas.
More powerful gas such as HFC22 can be used, but it shortens the lifespan of these Airsoft products significantly.
Outside of Japan, HFC134a is still popular because it operates well within the tolerances of all gas-powered Airsoft guns. It is, however, not very powerful.
HFC22 or Green Gas is the preferred gas, and deals well in cold temperatures [Where HFC134a may not be powerful enough to cycle a gun in cold weather] and its is often used to give gas guns that extra power, kick, recoil, range, and fps.
Guns manufactured in Taiwan and China are typically designed around this higher power gas and perform well, though they are backwards compatible with HFC134a.
KSC, KWA, HFC, KJW, etc typically encourage the use of HFC22 to cycle their guns properly, especially those of all metal or slide metal construction, where the mass is significantly higher than ABS/plastic.
here we goOriginally posted by mrwonderful:don u did not reply to my PM. Anyway got a link to that CO2 vulcan Heng?
And for LMGs, STAR M249s are more worth the money, you are just trading in a full metal CA M249 for a STAR mostly plastic M249 for half the cost, whichs gives higher FPS and is just as reliable! PLus being lighter means its not so heavy to lug aroudn during scrims.![]()
meh i will.Originally posted by zoik:The airsoft Vulcans are somewhat notorious.
While they have made appearances on the field, they eat up so much ammunition and require so much care and attention, that they are little more than liabilities to themselves.
They also tend to make the user an instant BB magnet
HENG@ you better buy quick before all the Laws come into effect and you cant buy the guns you want anymore in the UK.
(Move to Europe!)
The listed items looks pretty expensive. Try this one, http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/HomeOriginally posted by HENG@:
Nah airsoft is banned here pure and simple. And not to be a killjoy or anything, but since airsoft is banned in sg, and this is an sg forum, its not too wise discussing this topic here. I mean, the Singapore Police Force board is just around the corner!Originally posted by cold_Zero:well i still dont know... it is a toy gun and toy guns falls only fall under CONTROLLED ITEMS and not actuall arms. it falls under CONTROLLED ITEMS which include Boomerangs. Recently having to save up a bit so im laying off buying anything for this month.Originally posted by zoik:Tasco are good yes, i used to use a Simmons scope on my G3 SG-1, and was open sighted on my M1 Carbine.
my rifle is boxed away at the moment, but i believe thats a Tasco 3-9x40E illuminated scope, and its very nice too.
That 'weathered' look is not far off the normal look actually.
The photos are quite old.
Its since been dragged through trenches and military FIBUA training complexes and is considerably roughened and scratched up now...maybe even a bit rusty..
HENG@ have you been to wolf armouries yet?
theres quite a number of sg guys in uk who play airsoft..
i believe one of them actually works in wolfs, and plays in a sg police SWAT-style loadout up at USAF Upwood ..
oh i know this site. The shipping fees will kill me tho.Originally posted by donchoo:The listed items looks pretty expensive. Try this one, http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Home
They ship worldwide, yes including sg. Prices are attractive too
agree. airsofts can't kill. ever. I regularly shoot myself in the arm or legs at point blank with my airsofts. I also have shootouts with my friend when he visits my flat. It would be a joke to say it can kill. It might injure, if it hits the eyes, but it certainly could be used to commit a crime, as its not easy to tell if its a real weapon or not. Hence I guess that is a consideration for the sg govt to ban airsofts. Its their decision, and much as I don't like it, they do have valid reasons. Hence, I will only keep my airsofts in London, I won't ever bring them back to Sg. There is no reason to bring them back to Sg anyway.Originally posted by mrwonderful:Nah airsoft is banned here pure and simple. And most airsoft boards at sgforums end up being led by a few posters mainly zoik and heng who are safe from the strict laws here. And also gets bashed by a few ignorants who dont know a bit about airsoft just that it ressembles replicas.
To them: Airsoft guns, NOT Air guns, are incapable of killing, fullstop. The most a highly modded airsoft gun can go is i estimate 600 FPS, which is VERY extreme. That will make you bleed, but definitely not kill a healthy human being. And So you think, they are dangerous as they can be used to commit crimes ie. robberies. Then why are no firing REPLICAS allowed in singapore? You see them at stalls at CSC, china made non firing replicas. Just paint over the orange tips,(any 59 yr old can do), and you have a gun that looks like a real gun.
I think airsoft is banned here because singapore prides itself highly on its police state and high security model, which encourages foreign entreperneurs, hence investment, at the expense the hobby. From the governments point of view its a very worthy trade off. and there some ppl like old folks and conservatives (Read above paragraph) which would never be able to adapt such an idea. there are alot of disadvantages, but they should also think of all the potential benefits. Airsoft is great fun and so many ppl, or everyone, are denied the possibility, even awarness of its existence, of playing it here.
I dont know if anyone her has heard, but there were rumours that the SG governemnt would review its airsoft laws, now tts small hope considering all the factors and the recent gun violence. Alright thanks for reading
There's no irony.Originally posted by Shotgun:It might be able to collapse ur eyeball if u get hit by a high velocity 6mm bb.. ahahah.
True... airsoft guns are soooo dangerous cos they look like real guns and their bb rounds can hurt ppl.
Let me highlight the irony...
I can buy a 60lb recurve hunting bow, together with arrows WITHOUT licenses or any registration. And those... well THEY CAN KILL. 6mm bbs would give u a bruise. I shoot u in the neck with my bow, u're gonna bleed. Of course that im planning to kill anyone... Besides 60lbs not competition legal. =/
