Judging by this pic, I can narrow the specific ship of this Fearless Class PV to 2 ships. Not sure whether can I say the name out...Originally posted by Obersturmfuhrer:Just another one of those that I see regularly. I understand that posting of SAF assets online is a very sensitive issue so hope you'll understand the low resolution pics.
Sea Skua?Originally posted by Shotgun:Eh, where are u taking these photos from man? I wanna go there an launch some Sea Skuas! haaha
I think the RSN's Coastal Command should just engage you to monitor our waters for them.....Originally posted by Obersturmfuhrer:It has been a relatively boring one plus month with no new visitors other than the usual OPVs and MCMVs, until this USN Fleet oiler decided to drop by yesterday. A Henry J. Kaiser class fleet oiler, the USNS Rappahannock(T-AO 204)

What missile is it?
What is the maximum range of the missile?

It's radar-guided, specifically semi-active radar guidance. Defence? Oh, the usual stuff...SAM, guns, CIWS, prayer....Originally posted by Arena:Is the Sea Skua homing by a radar seeker or Infra-red?
How can ships defend themselves from this missile?

Thats a good one. Oh btw, dun bother asking me what I do for work. Its got nothing to do with OSA, its just my preference to keep it private.Originally posted by khyron1:Defence? Oh, the usual stuff...SAM, guns, CIWS, prayer....
Not sure.... .but i think most anti ship missile didn't use infra-red. my guess active homing....Originally posted by Arena:Is the Sea Skua homing by a radar seeker or Infra-red?

I must say I occassionally check this thread to see what are the warships passing thru' the straits. Very interesting from a warship enthusiast ( junior one that is). Thanks, Ober.
Some years ago, I had seen subs on the surface transiting our south passage. But no flag was flown. My dad said that they were Australian. He had seen the Aussies overflying Pedra Blanca with P3 Orion aircraft. He claims that they are very interested in Singapore's maritime capabilities and when they are not exercising with the RSN, they will "probe" using their rights as a friendly country.
Hi, when my dad told me about the P3 , he also showed me a photo he had taken ( he was stationed at Pedra Blanca). The P3 was positively Australian as it was buzzing low level and it had the Kangaroo markings !Originally posted by Pitot:Yes. We shld respct his privacy.
Btw, thats an interesting point from your dad.. But how do the aussies get there in the first place? Unless they are here.. if not they must overfly indonesia or make a big detour..
haha... i think that one should not be 84 if the photo is taken recently, in ard 1 mth... i cant tell u whr 84 is, so minus 84, the next 1 will be the exact pv that u can pinpoint...Originally posted by spartan6:I think i saw something tat look like a deck crane therefore it should be e RSS Sovereignty (84)
