  SAF should get some of these cool toys. Its multi role anyway, at least a cheaper alternative compared to eurofighter.

  the cost and the logistics can't be justified...our vipers can do the job just as well as the Gripen can..
  
  though i gotta admit, the JAS-39 is one cool and sleek bird

  Gripen could well replaced the F5 as the air superiority fighter if the price is right. Moreover, the British are behind the Gripen marketing effort.
  
  The problem for Gripen is that the user base is very small. Uncle sam not using the plane, neither is Nation X... Thus, we could face some problem when we upgrade the Gripen beyond the standard configuration just like our F16.
  
  A lot of China Website claimed that their J10 is the best in the entire Asia, can beat almost very plane except the F15. But I think our vipers still have some tricks under the sleeves. In order to maintain our tech edge for SAF, it would be wise for us to follow uncle sam and Nation X as they had proven to be our most reliable partners over the years.

  just to inform you the gripen exports are all under NATO compatitbility so no worries for logisitic and weapons aside.......more info can be find in the official website.....

  An F-15 is an air-superiority fighter. An F-5... its more like just an interceptor.
