this is a test of the a/c rotor power when during tied up. tales says that this is the aircraft is US that during hover and did q 360 flip and landed SAFELY on ground

ok, this experiment is to see how the natural frequency can affect the heli, everything has its natural frequency, like a bridge will collapse if it is subjected to its natural frequency. as the blades rotate, the heli's body is subjected to vibration and thus is vibrates...as it reaches its 1st natural frequency, u can see it starts to experience strong displacement...then when it reaches its 2nd natural frequency, it starts to go koyak. it is important to know the 1st and 2nd natural frequency so dat u know wat speed will cause it to occur. some details can't say lah...else wait i ganna whisked off tonight.

actually this test is to determine how the chinook holds up to something called ground resonance. the vibrations from a turning rotor is translated to the ground through the airframe. since the heli is chained down, the vibrations are translated back from the ground into the rotors again through the airframe. this makes the rotors vibrate even worse, which goes round and round again until the heli vibrates itself to pieces.
