June 14, 1999--In Prizren, German troops opened fire on a small yellow car carrying two Serbs through the city center. Witnesses said the car was driving toward a German armored personnel carrier -- surrounded by people celebrating the arrival of peacekeepers -- when the passenger displayed an AK-47 and opened fire.
Troops on the carrier and a German tank returned fire. The driver of the car was killed and the passenger wounded. A German soldier on the carrier was injured.
A relief worker from the international group World Vision who helped the wounded Serb said the man told him, "I am a Serb. I must die for my country."
That was Leopard 2's first-ever combat engagement-although the main gun has never been fired. I think somebody won the Iron Cross or Blue Max for that one.

the high rate of fire firing should be the MG42 series type GPMG on the Leo2's commander's position.
Saw one guy firing his pistol. i wonder why he do that? maybe to signal to all to resume firing??

I'd assume that the guy on the real hull of the Leo2 is the crewman of the vehicle or an non-infantry combatant so he just returning fire with his P8.......
BTW, the assault rifles are Heckler & Kock's G36, and use gas-operated op-rod action .......

That is Flecktarn, a five-colour 'dot camo' revived by the German military in the 1990s. The flecktarn pattern is particulary well suited to Central European woodland in all seasons.
