tactical battlefield nuclear shells from Israel during the late 80s or early 90s? i am kind of surprise when i firsi heard this from my friend since i hav never ever heard that SAF posseess such a weapon like mass destrutive chemical weapons let alone "nukes". It reminds me of what the Def minister (forget his name) but from the book "defend the lion city" that Singapore do have "sliver bullet" if it is comes to the need to use it. From what i have heard the shell is based on original Israeli 175mm shell design but downsized to 155mm suitable for long range field artillery. Does SAF's 155mm light artillery or the new primus design capable of firing nuclear shells in the first place? so was it possible ir just plain bullshit?

There will always be those classified weapons in the inventory of every army around the world... For our SAF what silver bullets we have is anyone's guess. Harpy UAVs with thermobaric warheads do not seem impossible though. Proper use of a weapon always dictates the need, deployment and political utility; reminds me of the Thai '9-11' aircraft carrier, no VSTOL aircraft, no helicopters, and was not used during tsunami when needed! What a waste of money.
Maybe this rumour stems from an old story when a US navy rep was questioned whether US navy ships transshipping via Singapore had tactical nuke weapons; standard navy respponse "neither confirm nor deny". Singapore plays along with same response so therein lies a suspicion that we have such weapons. Some 'kudok' thinks our 155mm is the best thing since sliced bread, puts two and two together... never mind the real experiment to put 155mm on a different platform with very funny results... lets just say that it was a 'washout'.
Remember reading that Singapore's stated policy is 'we will not procure or deploy weapons, which are neither procured or deployed by those who may threaten us'. Has anyone heard that someone on the block has tac nuke wespons? -

But Singapore case it as kind of dumb and moron to even have it. First even you can shoot 50 km away, that mean the center of the blast will be only 50km away, firing it you actually help the enemy to wipe out singapore.
Why would we want to use 155mm nuclear shell when we have planes, to do the job - at a further distance which is well away from us. Even if we have it, don't you think we would not have taken them and convert them to be carry by planes instead by now ? -
Singapore got unclear shells lah. Not nuclear.
