"He(Junior Under Officer Iskandar bin Abdullah from Singapore.-- Major E G Jones, a Company Commander at Sandhurst.
) has outperformed the majority of the British cadets and is both widely respected and much admired as a result. He has been a superb ambassador for his country."
2LT Iskandar was awarded the Overseas Sword of Honour for topping the batch of 27 overseas cadets. He also won the Brunei War Studies Prize for turning in the best performance in war studies.
2LT Lui won the Prince Abdullah Prize for being the next best overseas cadet after the Overseas Sword of Honour winner. His two other awards were for best performance in communication studies, and in defence and international affairs.
Perhaps the highest compliment came from Major E G Jones, a Company Commander at Sandhurst. "Iskandar is an exemplary cadet whose commitment to the commissioning course has been impeccable," he wrote in a short commentary published in the commissioning parade programme.

Would he dare to die for S'pore if his Country is at war with USA? Should we have him honour here too? Just for that matter: Is there anyone in the N.S. derserving any honour for bravery when confronted with self-sarifice or being courageous in front of death?wondering?
I think our Country need people who are sincerely willing to die for Country and honor, but whatever honours we can confer is only superficious..just as medals to wear for formal occasions. No offence to our uniformed people or the happy Officer mentioned here..
I would people serve in the N. S.< as compulsory? > by choice..then we will have really honourable mentions of real honours in the army or air force or navy men or women!
