Does SAF have sniper rifles with .50 cal or greater

  To my knowledge, SAF does not employ the use of any .50 calibre sniper rifles. Only weapon in SAF inventory which employs the .50 calibre round is the CIS 50.

  There are actually sniper rifles of 20mm calibre really (.50cal are 12.7mm).

  But they got teach you sniping in SISPEC meh? As a Infantry Specialist...hw is it possible to teach so quickly?

  teaching is is balistics lah, windage etc...temperature...distance compensation...teach u bullets dun fly linearly from the point it leave the 'kung' to the point where it leaves a 'kung' etc etc.

  Seriously, they needn't bother to teach so much about ballistics and trajectory.
  
  For the average spec, just tell them that if u zero ur weapon for 100m, and ur target is only 50m, aim lower. Thats all.

  Less so about "garang" but more on when Army HQ thinks that they need to induct more snipers to coincide with a batch of people going to ORD. This is what I heard from a friend and a cousin... both of them were snipers.
  
  But of course, they will choose the fit and the more intelligent and more independent chaps from a certain batch ( be it SISPEC or OCS) to go for sniper school.

  well, intelligent and fit they may be, but at the same time sniping still requires a certain amount of skill to shoot a lot better than average. And from past experience, there aren't that many fantastic, dead-eye, 98% sure hit shooters in one batch at Sispec.
  
  Remember quite a few bobo shooters as well.
