German media: United States Prepares Iran Strike

The DDP report added that Goss had delivered to the Turkish prime minister and his security aides a series of dossiers, one on the latest status of Iran's nuclear development and another containing intelligence on new links between Iran and al-Qaida.
DDP cited German security sources who added that the Turks had been assured of a warning in advance if and when the military strikes took place, and had also been given "a green light" to mount their own attacks on the bases in Iran of the PKK, (Kurdish Workers party), which Turkey sees as a separatist group responsible for terrorist attacks inside Turkey.
Goss's visit to the Turkish capital followed the rising international concern over recent statements by the new Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that Israel should be "wiped off the map," denying the existence of Holocaust, and suggesting that Israel's Jewish population might be re-located to Europe.
In a December 23 report, the DDP agency quoted an anonymous but "high-ranking German military official" telling their reporter: "I would be very surprised if the Americans, in the mid-term, didn't take advantage of the opportunity delivered by Tehran. The Americans have to attack Iran before the country can develop nuclear weapons. After that would be too late."

Bush will not have the support for another pre-emptive strike like he did when he lied to the world abt WMD in Iraq.
Iran may be openly brazen with their renewal of uranium development and their President's zealous comments but that still isn't enough to start a war.
If anything, Israel is the one who may invade Iran with a precussor strike rather than uncle sam. -
He doesn't need the local support anymore. He can now justify pre-emptive strike on Iran with support of the UN.
The entire UN assembly heard the Iranian President's comments. They've also heard about Iran's ambitions for nuclear weapons and nuclear reactors.
The moment Iran closes its door for UN inspectors, its gonna find the entire US Air force knocking its doors down. -

You know... I have been reading news from international news and have been following the event.
From the very start, Iran have been under an embargo for longer than Iraqi have. However, Iran had pretty much weathered well under such such circumstances well. It's been called an AXIS of terror longer than I can remember. So, I have the opinion that whatever Iran does or does not, it will still receive criticism, much like China gets.
Isreal viewed Iran as an enemy vice visa. Israel has been daunting US to invade Iran, with relatively same tactics used in the Iraq war... Etc. Israel has been releasing news like Iran wil have Nukes in 6 mths, search for Nukes parts, supporting terrorist in Iraqi, Iraq's WMD sent into Iran, while reporting Iraq WMD also sent to Syria. Iran sending IEDs into Iraq..... ONO
While Israel themselves has 62 UN resolutions against her, of which, 32 are for occupying foreign land. much more the Saddam. Israel has also 250 Nukes. The only one in ME that has WMD.
With Syria leadership being accuse of killing lebanese Hariri, base on a UN report that has no concrete evidence and mostly of accusations, while even the lead witness has admitted being brided.. We can see the whole picture of what is to become of it.
Israel has said that IRAN deadline is March. The Israel election is in March, Iran will start to except EUROS for oil trade also march. In March US soldiers are also still in Iraq, In the middle of it. Isreal will need to fly thru Syria or Iraq to strike Iran, Thus dragging The US in. You see the US are already stretched thin in Iraq and could not invade Iran, If the wanted to (Home sentiments). By trapping them, they are forced into the conflict, while Israel is protected by the US ( Canon fodder) in Iraq. Hoping that it would not be just limited to air strikes.
With Syria and Iran down, Saudi , Turkey and Jordan under US Fold. All enemies are eliminated. With plenty of OIL to go around. -

I agree, to create an Air corridor for israeli aircraft to pass through through Syria would not be likely. That would mean Israel has to overfly Iraq. And that would depend if the US decides to ALLOW Israel to do that. Chances of that happening I would think is Slim. I would think that it would be in the interests of the US to keep Israel out of any conflict with any arab nation in order to stabilise the region.
Ariel Sharon was supposed to stand for elections again for his party in March, but now that he's taken out by a stroke, and recovery slim, what do you suppose would happen? -

The Iranian government has been successfully scouring Europe for the sophisticated equipment needed to develop a nuclear bomb, according to the latest western intelligence assessment of the country's weapons programmes.
Scientists in Tehran are also shopping for parts for a ballistic missile capable of reaching Europe, with "import requests and acquisitions ... registered almost daily", the report seen by the Guardian concludes.
The warning came as Iran raised the stakes in its dispute with the United States and the European Union yesterday by notifying the International Atomic Energy Authority that it intended to resume nuclear fuel research next week. Tehran has refused to rule out a return to attempts at uranium enrichment, the key to the development of a nuclear weapon.

The 55-page intelligence assessment, dated July 1 2005, draws upon material gathered by British, French, German and Belgian agencies, and has been used to brief European government ministers and to warn leading industrialists of the need for vigilance when exporting equipment or expertise to so-called rogue states.
It concludes that Syria and Pakistan have also been buying technology and chemicals needed to develop rocket programmes and to enrich uranium. It outlines the role played by Russia in the escalating Middle East arms build-up, and examines the part that dozens of Chinese front companies have played in North Korea's nuclear weapons programme.
But it is the detailed assessment of Iran's nuclear purchasing programme that will most most alarm western leaders, who have long refused to believe Tehran's insistence that it is not interested in developing nuclear weapons and is trying only to develop nuclear power for electricity. Governments in the west and elsewhere have also been dismayed by recent pronouncements from the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has said that Holocaust denial is a "scientific debate" and that Israel should be "wiped off the map".
The leak of the intelligence report may signal a growing frustration at Iran's refusal to bow to western demands that it abandon its programme to produce fuel for a Russian-built nuclear reactor due to come on stream this year.
The assessment declares that Iran has developed an extensive web of front companies, official bodies, academic institutes and middlemen dedicated to obtaining - in western Europe and in the former Soviet Union - the expertise, training, and equipment for nuclear programmes, missile development, and biological and chemical weapons arsenals.
"In addition to sensitive goods, Iran continues intensively to seek the technology and know-how for military applications of all kinds," it says.
The document lists scores of Iranian companies and institutions involved in the arms race. It also details Tehran's growing determination to perfect a ballistic missile capable of delivering warheads far beyond its borders.
It notes that Iran harbours ambitions of developing a space programme, but is currently concentrating on upgrading and extending the range of its Shahab-3 missile, which has a range of 750 miles - capable of reaching Israel.
Iranian scientists are said to be building wind tunnels to assist in missile design, developing navigation technology, and acquiring metering and calibration technology, motion simulators and x-ray machines designed to examine rocket parts. The next generation of the Shahab ("shooting star" in Persian) should be capable of reaching Austria and Italy.

Yes, Iran has said they will con't nuclear fuel refinement, and also that it was for peaceful power generation... with the help from russia. On the US providing evidence of Iran Nuclear weapons embition, well, it was again based on the same kind of evidence produced on Iraqi. It was based on a stolen Iranian Laptop, showing very unprofessional presentation and documents even a high school kid could reproduced. Same like the Iraq "yellow cake" forgery from Nigeria.
On the Dual use equipment.. WTF.. any thing can be dual use. Missiles are already very developed in Iran. And most of the reports originated from Israel.
I don't blame Iran on the Nuclear ambotion at all. Remember Iraq, many people have the opinion that IF the US point the nuclear finger at you, You better gets some nuke fast... because It doesn't matter you have it or not. Their intentions are clear. BTW, I do some how admire Iran, under embargo and they are still so resilient. But their President is really brain cooked - insane. -
