  It's a forgotten theatre.All I know is that General Chennault is the commander of the Flying Tigers.The aircraft most famous there is the P-40 Kittyhawk.

  Yes China airforce was armed with main soviet planes that time, but due to the poor pilot skill vs japan, which result in heavy loss that direct air to air fight with japs are not allow.
  
  Later think US did supply some planes, but most remain soviets.

  The Nationalist Gov Chinese airforce in 1930s were made up of biplanes from Russia. The Nationalist gov did use their limited airforce in Battle of Shaghai and Nanking. The chinese airforce was nearly eliminated during the pullback to Chong King after the fall of Nanking, as the spare parts supply dwindled.
