Arm race...this means that we are going to war soon because the malaysians wants to convert Singapore to a Islam state
i heard from a school teacher that Malaysia,Brunei and whateva else criticized singapore for being a red state in the middle of a green area
but dont worry mates....Our close ally,the Americans will aid us should the Malaysians attack us...
and i tink malaysia will crumple under the advanced weapons(such as ICBMs) of the USA -
malaysia is not rich enough to have an arms-race with us.

2nd correction is that we should not be waiting for help to come from USA. We must be defending ourselves against any enemy. Any form of aid should be in the form of economic and military sanctions. Military aids should only come in the later stages of 'war' should the campaign drags on for months. -

3rd correction...malaysia in no way, is planning to turn sg into an islamic state. In fact they will be more afraid if the islamic fundamentalist rise within their country.
4th... i dun really see it as an arms build up becos it is simply too small a scale. Considering the equipment that both sg and my buys, it is far too little to call it a major arms race.I would say it is a just modernisation. Besides majority of the arms purchase of malaysia has been dated back to 1997.
So i believe it is acceptable for them to modernise just as much as it is acceptable for us to modernise. -

I think it is all relative. Someone who hates MY will think that MY is buying all the weapons to attack SG whereas a person who has no animosity against MY will simply think that it is just a plan to modernise their armed forces.
Either way, i think all these weapons would be put to better use if we get watch each others back rather than to thump our chest and boast around.. -
actually we are just being suspicious that MY is renewing their dated weapons....so we are doing so...
its just like when ur enemy is stocking up on water bomb....u will be doing so also...
and oh abt the other post its not Brunei sry....
