I agree, i went to malaysia just recently and at the tuas checkpoin (malaysian side) the immigration officer actually demanded 50 Rm from my sis just because he claimed that her photo doesn't match with the passport. In the end after some arguement about the so called penalty, he let us through without us paying him a single cent. Throughly disgusted
And there is no scanners or whatsoever that their immigration checkpoints, my luggage wasn't checked at all. Those two customs person was happily chatting to each other at the part where they suppose to inspect baggage. Only randomly stopping one or two for spot check.
