Point, GMPG unless u are well trained in it, it is impossible to shoot accurately.
It is only for sweeping... plus GMPG gets very hot after firing awhile and you have to change the chamber. -

GPMG produce very nice "fireworks" at night..... especially during live firing at night...

the Gimp is a platoon asset....more commonly used as a firebase.....in my experience uh...hehe...oh yuh...harbouring....it gives a good welcome to anyone....the SAW would be placed at each Apex..but the Gimp would be at the 'main door' -

SAW - Section Automatic Weapon
A "Gun" usually refers to a crew-served weapon. Means its not really an individual weapon, but requires a crew to man it.
A "Weapon" is an individual's assault weapon. -

GPMP is one of the most easily spoilt weapon. Once during training I was choosen as MG gunner. I fired around 700 round and stop. All the while my shoulder was pressign against the butt. And when I was about to check clear, the butt cracked into half..

I fired one from the bx while on the move. Not easy k, one hand control turret, the other got to stop the mg swinging from all that recoil.

Personally i think it is dumb because some people take that to the logical extreme. The burst of fire should depend on the situation at hand. But hey, this is the Army and the Army has some really really dumb people in it. Hence the need to fool proof every single thing. -
One of the GPMG live firing, the barrel just flew out while firing.
GPMP - so heavy, so ma fan to maintain, difficult to repair, and the stupid tripod ---so damn heavy............................... -
