SOW? Cruise Missiles?

Whats the difference between a Stand Off Weapon (SOW) and cruise missiles? Do you think that Singapore have the this technology due to its great emphasis in UAV development? Comments please.

Good question man... I also dunno how to answer. For now, just accept that Cruise Missiles have a longer range and a more "pre-planned" flight profile.

imo, stand off weapons can be employed at a distance from the target that reduces the launching platform's risk of coming under direct fire from enemy units. one think i'm unsure of is whether weapons falling under this classfication has to be guided.
cruise missiles are just low flying missiles with a (usually) standoff range, with guidance systems such as GPS and usually contains an in built inertial navigation/guidance system. It would be considered as a standoff weapon. -

well JSOW is a type of stand off weapon (as its name suggests), as its range is indeed standoff. most guided glide-bombs are. Much about the JSOW is still classified. No idea what the HUD symbology looks like yet. But apparently Jane's F/A-18 Hornet's JSOW symbology came pretty close to the real thing.
Supposed to fly to a specific release point and release at the launch cue. In other words, its even easier to drop those than a LGB. -
Cruise missile is defined as a missile powered by an air breathing engine that flies at cruise speed. This speed is generally defined as subsonic.
So what falls into this category?
Among the usual INF cruise missiles, Harpoon, SLAM and SLAM-ER are cruise missiles. (Yes Singapore have cruise missiles!!!)
Not too sure about SOW as it actually cut across quite a wide range of weapon systems. It might be defined on range?
