True, respect should be earned but being a uniformed organisation with proper code of conduct laid out, it is necessary to salute commisioned officers even though you do not mean it. This is part of the discipline expected of every soldier. the reason they are commission by the country , themore he has a moral responsibility to lead the men by example and not abuse it.
anyway, depending on what kind of offer these ppl want to be. respect gain because of his leadership, care for the men or one that feel proud of themselves because they are simply so call commission. -
It is under the GOM and part of military protocol. It is a chargeable offence but you should be glad most officers dun really go for this 5 cent stuff. History textbooks on WW2 suz...the only accurate contents are probably big bang old history news that cannot be changed and are not from a soldiers journal.....like the war ended with the A-bomb etc. Trying reading books from other countries written by international writers...u will see that many have different perspective of the war...be it a German, a Japanese, a Chinese or even an American.
I agree...many things have occured with WW2..the closest global war worthy of everyone's attention in the history of our lifetime.
...and to all the victims and soldiers whho fought and perish...be it the Axis or the Allies...HAIL and a salute
