it doens't matter what they are holding, my friend was one of the standby member for the raid, their order is simple, anyone that move in the cabin, shoot first, ask later, i cannot disclose more but it is the last thing in their mind if the terrorists are holding knifes or guns, or bombs...
U must understand that in the world of special ops community, they don't care who their opponents are, their role is very simple. Even if it took 1 to kill 1, they would still do it without any doubt.

He used to do his own non-tactical recce of the training/ exercise area, even tho' we had a scout section and a full estab of Ops guys ( who are supposed to do this). actually he shouldn't do that.... imagine he kanna captured how? or maybe smart.... the "enemy" on exercise will be on lookout for recce troopers and not one solo MAJ or LTC on a motorbike! -

You are right... in real situation, unlikely my CO would expose himself, even tho' he is a "garang" chap. He will go by the book and deploy his recce troops and Ops people to do this job. -
