todae straits time also publish an article about malaysia and indonesia being 'best friends' as something necessaryDon`t count on it. They have`nt exactly been the best of buddies in the past and certainly not now. We are definitely closer to Indonesia; especially during the Suharto era. They have teething issues with Thailand, Brunei and as far as Australia(on issues as diverse as Australia`s native people..thks to Dr M). Not too long ago, DPM Najib declared that China is a naturally ally of Malaysia. They did`nt exactly got a nod from China so that was kind of malu. Can you say bizzare statements come from the north from time to time.
better don't say , Malaysia astronauts are going to space soon..Originally posted by gary1910:What bother abt that stupid fool!!!!
When he make joke abt we drinking new water , it show how stupid he is???
And he called himself a doctor when he dun even read abt the scientific papers of on microfiltration and reverse osmosis which even spacemen drink them!!!![]()
incase you havent read, Singapore sells water back to malaysia on the cheap. Hence if PAS takes the water agreements and tear them up, it is they're own people who will complain about the rise in the water prices. For us, it's back to the water rationing days hehOriginally posted by AF2005:They always pick on us, tiny island with no resources. Sometimes i even think race problems may be exaggerated and influenced by external parties out to create inbalance. We have to be self sufficient and PAP now is also too snob in the eyes of our neighbours. We always talk about treaty and international law. But our neighbours may not like it. They like contract without fixed price and up to them to change and also this bridge, even two houses join at the wall also needs to get approval between owners just to made any modification. What they say we must follow. i guess in their heart, they have not really let go of us yet.
when any parties want to do any project which involves the other party, a formal written proposal must be issue and spelt out clearly and sign by johore and KL. Next if johore becomes independant, but contract with federal can be void. The water contract is with johore and singapore, but somehow transfer to KL. If one day PAS wins in johore, then how? They can denied all informal contracts by federal and BN.
I guess they have run out of projects, thats why in a rush to build the CQ. What happens the bridge can only be build 300m to the left of the CW due to problems., then they cannot shift the CQ on the right.
i think a new bridge will be great but must mutually benefit both parties and must be free, no toll for all vehicles and people.
But why SG dragging her feet?Originally posted by ferryman2393:Greetings,
MY should not have considered a bridge to replace the Causeway in the first place. This would render the Malaysia Singapore Second Crossing pointless. But then again, the Causeway is causing a lot of environmental headaches, among others, nowadays. Replacing it with a bridge would alleviate some of the associated environmental issues. Isn't this a good enough excuse to replace the Causeway with a bridge? Since SG is dragging her feet over this issue, don't discount on MY building a crooked bridge. There's no issue with ITLOS or whatever law as MY is not considering to make do with the Causeway. MY is merely building a crooked bridge to replace her part of the Causeway. For this, MY does not need SG's consent. What serious implications would that be if MY proceed with the crooked bridge?
Ohhh Really?Originally posted by dragg:if MY wanted to build it on their own she would have done it long ago. she always put it like they care about our opinion actually they dont. she merely wants our money.
closing the border will only hurt them more, not us. we are MY's no 1 source of tourists revenue. johor will never agree to the closing of the border.
But why SG dragging her feet?To be honest, Im wondering why too seeing as such we are not the ones who want to build the bridge and still have to fork out a half a billion dollars. You might want to add that water supply(!), traffic, trade, etc might be affected plus maybe the cause of pollution is not the causeway among other things. ..Don`t forget it`s an international institution which cannot be demolished without the prior agreement of both parties.
Ohhh Really?Closing the borders would hurt both sides a lot really. You`re right.
If MY to construct a half-bridge,how?
yes you are right. johore will lose out once the treaty is over. I dare to eat road side food or drink their sugar cane in JB is because they use same water form singapore. If not i wouldn't even dare to drink tea tarik.Originally posted by |-|05|:incase you havent read, Singapore sells water back to malaysia on the cheap.
