SAR 21 need not zeroing for already zeroed in factory.
So,after how long in field that it need be zeroed again,3000 rounds?
2.M16
After how many rounds it need zeroing,300 rounds?
Even no round is shot, how long it to be zeroed?
Is it applied to SAR 21 also?Originally posted by SpecOps87:But how true is it that, once you drop the weapon, you have to re-zero the weapon?
Assuming the iron sights or scope have not been damaged from the rifle being dropped, and assuming you haven't changed the type of ammo you've been using, the rifle should hold its zero indefinitely.Originally posted by lionnoisy:oh.I am asking after firing how many rounds ,in the range or in the field,
then u need to zero the rifle again.
yah, different ppl got different aiming posture, so need to zero if the rifle is used by different ppl. if heard tt if u break ur rifle(the pin near the magazine), the zeroing will be off...dun understand abt ttOriginally posted by insouciant:Actually you need to zero to each individual's eye for the M16. Same goes for the M203.
Haven't tried the SAR21, so can't say.
hahahahahahaha..... sar 21 scope can be plucked out of the handle one. Do that everyday. Basically, after we replace the telescopic sight back into the carrying handle, we do boresighting to align with the LAD n barrel.Originally posted by Shotgun:SAR-21 scope cannot be removed or adjusted, so cannot zero. Snipers have to mount their scope, hence when it is dropped, they have to re-zero the weapon.
Perhaps SAR-21 picatinny have to re-zero.
How lovely... Zeroing does nothing for grouping. Small grouping only indicates good basic marksmanship techniques and use of competition rounds.Originally posted by Slywong:My NS warrant trainer said he zeroed his SAR21 until he can achieve groupings of 1 single big hole!!!![]()
Dont know whether he hao-siao or not..........

Your posting seems kinda pointless. The thread starter asked if weapons, such as the M16 and SAR21 require consistent zeroing or if they should be zeroed if subjected to hard knocks.Originally posted by maggot:Use calibration laser bore sighting...no rounds needed![]()
SAR the scope can zero wot.....Originally posted by Shotgun:The logic is quite simple actually. The reason why breaking ur M-16 will upset the zeroing is cos of the shift in ur eye position in relation to ur upper reciever.
Both the foresight tip and rear sight apperture is located on the upper reciever of the M-16, the lower reciever, is where the butt is, where u rest ur cheeks and place ur eye behind the rear sight.
When u break the rifle, and fix it back, there MAY be a shift in position on how the upper n lower reciever rest together. Since u need both a 3 point alignment to aim, (foresight, rearsight, eye) it may cause ur aiming to be off, and requiring u to re-zero.
Sar-21... i have no idea how to zero the scope... its fixed... LAD i know have to zero tho.
The SAR does not keep the zeroing better than the M16.Originally posted by Rockhound:SAR the scope can zero wot.....
even when zero also i bobo on SAR....
but on M16 can shoot like nobodies business
i juz dun fancy scopes uh
SAF carbines are old and may be prone to having the problem of the stock being loose. At least that is what i told myself when found out i couldn't hit the broad side of a barn!Originally posted by Obersturmfuhrer:Trust in my sturdy carbine
