Back to the topic at hand, let those ignorant people (most likely students) rant and belittle all they wish. Our defence is our problem not theirs. At the end of the day when every Singaporean gets to go home to a quiet meal and some personal comfort is what matters anyway. -

Most of their points are rather accurate, although there are some that just seems misguided and without basis. Of course they fail to note that international relationships are not as simple as they percieve, neither did these students realise that had the Chinese government persisted with their hardcore communism policies prior to the 1990s, they might not be surfing the net today, posting comments to flame Singapore. Which was why our government refused to conduct diplomatic relationships in line with our anti-communism policy back then.
Also, I fail to see what's there to be proud of when everything they "manufacture" (in terms of weaponry) are reverse-engineered? STK might not be as active as NORINCO but we dun have an arms ambargo imposed on us.
Last point, their people are not united as well. Like what some said, northerners look down on southerners, city folk look down on country folk, etc. One cannot expect them to look kindly on overseas chinese, no matter how much "respect" we give them. -
I don't give half a fark to what they say lar. Can't understand a single word they are typing on their forums anyways. Ask them to come post here in English then maybe I will bother.
