I have always assumed that once you change citizenship, sg gov cannot make you do NS anymore, but recently I have come across people who are of the opinion that even if you change citizenship, they can still make you do NS when you come back. I was shocked by his comments. What do you guys think?
fyi, I ord liao, not trying to shiam or anything like that
If you have taken up citizenship and have NOT registered with MINDEF, they can pull all the stunts they want, but there is no way they can force a foreign citizen upon arrival at Changi to serve NS.It happened to this fellow once, he raised hell and cried foul and the US Embassy told the ICA to inform the CMPB to lay their hands off him.
He entered Singapore as a full American citizen on an American passport.
