Military-Surplus Walther P1 Pistol

I was looking around in a local hunting/sporting goods superstore, when I noticed that their firearms department had brought in a special shipment of German military-surplus Walther P1 9mm pistols. I was surprised, as this particular store doesn't usually carry surplus firearms.
Apparently, military-surplus P1s are currently flooding the US firearms market. I've always wanted to add a P1 to my collection, due to its historical significance, so I picked one up for what I thought was a very reasonable price (US$250). Here is an image I took of it:
The slide sports a manufacture date of 10/80, but this particular P1 appeared to be unissued and unfired, as there was absolutely no parkerization or bluing wear anywhere on the pistol, inside and out. The salesperson brought out four P1s for me to pick from; the other three had minor handling marks and showed evidence of having been fired, but the fourth one--this one--looked like it could have been manufactured within the last week.
Aside from the pistol, the "package" also came with two 8-round magazines, a complete German army-issue cleaning kit, a camouflage holster, a trigger lock and 100 rounds of Winchester 9mm ammo. Hopefully, I'll have time this weekend to put some rounds through it.

isn't this pistol the same pistol which some guy from Band of Brothers took from some German officer on horseback and then later accidentally shot himself in the tigh with it?

NIce...its a nice historical gun....Pity Singapore dun allow guns...not even airguns

Looks good.... Wonder how it'll compare with the SigSauer P226.
That's the only pistol I've ever fired. -
guess wot?! UK allows airgun ownership as long as u're above 18. im waiting for my Sig Sauer P228 to be delivered now.

Who's the manufacturer of the airgun P228? How are the prices in general of airguns in the UK? -
i'm glad singapore doesn't allow legal possession of firearms.
i'd like my own airsofts though. -

heres a pic of the Steyr TMP i bought when i was in Calais. The revolver is a cap revolver i bought in London. both are with me in London now.

Unlike the US, it looks like air pistols in the UK aren't required to have their muzzles painted bright orange. You guys are pretty fortunate!

altho the cap pistol's muzzel had a orange cap over it. i heated the cap up and removed it.

By the way, I've decided not to shoot the P1 pictured in the opening post, as it is extremely rare to find an unissued and unfired mil-surp pistol a quarter of a century old. I'll probably just get another P1 to actually bring to the range. -
well just look at the mag,it should be 30 bullets so a TMP should have enough firepower to pepper a police car with bullets and down it...and it does look to me the successor to the Mac 10 and Uzi....Originally posted by HENG@:siao
