I am at around Pu Sudong area very often... Usu i see F-16 only nowadays....
A4 no more, cuz decomm... F5 only once in a v long time...
But I do rem seeing F5 flying from the direction of Changi...
I suppose they are based at CAB...
They are at PLABOriginally posted by Arena:Does the RSAF still flies F-5?
I rarely see them prying theskies liao...
All the time I see F-16....
Do our airboys still trains with them or they deployed overseas for training liao?
Serangoon area also can see...Originally posted by Pitot:Come buy a house in Serangoon paya lebar area, see F5 until u song..![]()
Seriously, you can't reecongise F-5 and F-16 apart in the high skiesOriginally posted by Arena:Does the RSAF still flies F-5?

The F-5 got a longer "nose" then the F-16. PRetty distinct I think...Originally posted by sbst275:Seriously, you can't reecongise F-5 and F-16 apart in the high skies
That is 1 diffOriginally posted by spencer99:The F-5 got a longer "nose" then the F-16. PRetty distinct I think...
Can one.....very easy to differentiate.Originally posted by sbst275:That is 1 diff
But high sky at high speed can easily spot meh?
OK..Originally posted by SBS1908B:Can one.....very easy to differentiate.
F-5 has long protruding nose and tail-pipes
F-16 has shorter nose and it looks quite squat, and the tail-pipe is blended into the tail, and the noise! If cannot see then easier, the F-16 has the distinctable low-pitch whistle while the F-5 tends to whistle at a higher pitch. And if the aircrafts decide to bank, even easier, the F-16's fin is how to say......er.... oh yah, concave towards the fuselage, while the F-5's is convex. Aiyah, just say that the back-portion slopes at obtuse while the other is acute can already.
Besides all these, over the years from visiting foreign aircrafts, can differentiate others. The F-15 is of course an easy one, and if cannot see, then you will be able to hear and differentiate, since it uses the same engines as the F-16s, but have 2 instead, sounds the same, but is much louder and whistle is of much lower pitch. Same goes for F-18s, only way to distinguish from F-15 is the twin outward canting fins, and the highly swept tail-planes, the tail-plane is a giveaway.
Have fun spotting!

Well, we doOriginally posted by Arena:It's very easy to differentiate a F-16 from a F-5...
The tail of F-5 and F-16 is different and the fuselage is different too... F-16 got a more fat fuselage compare to the slender F-5 and the very pointed nose as the whole fuselage is slender...
Air Force got teach how to recognise aircrafts right? And at diff range, diff angle....
SADA got right? So other SAF units also got...
Lol so you'd stand in the open when a MIG-29 comes at you and wave because you might think it's our's?Originally posted by sbst275:Well, we do
But seriously, I dun really bother what plane is that
As they all guard our skies
Of course down with the MiGOriginally posted by |-|05|:Lol so you'd stand in the open when a MIG-29 comes at you and wave because you might think it's our's?
