US Military MREs

Just thought you guys (and possibly gals!) might be interested in what a typical US military MRE (Meal, Ready-to-Eat) packet contains:
There are 12 individually-packed MREs to a carton.
The contents of an MRE.
The contents of the 'condiments' pouch shown in the lower-left of the second image. Note the size of the glass bottle of Tabasco!
Quite different from what we got for field rations during NS in Singapore, eh?

Have you tried their Chicken Rice version or the Burger one?

Nope, not yet. The carton in the image hasn't been opened yet, so I don't know what other varieties of meals are contained therein. I miss the Cadbury chocolate that used to be part of our field rations during NS. I think they had a melting point just a little lower than that of lead.

I miss the Cadbury chocolate that used to be part of our field rations during NS. I think they had a melting point just a little lower than that of lead.

The condiments are randomised.
I've personally had a pack that did not have tabasco but had cajun herbs in it.
The beef in mushroom sauce is pretty damn good.

What about Satay Beehoon?
Honestly, the only thing i ever eat from those packs of crap SAF gives is the dessert. Occasionally the main courses when I get the nice ones. Eg, Pastas, or green curry rice. I'd bury the braised duck rice. -
