How do Singapore train the tank crews.
I know that in Israel, the climax of an armour crew training is to sit in a condemn tank. Yes. A round is fired into the tank full of trainees. -

Yes i have heard of that kind of training in Isarel before. I think that is to instill confidence in the tank crews on their vehicles. If a condemned Isareli tank can withstand such an impact the new Merkevas should be even better. Secondly, since the Merkeva is the one of the safest MBT ever designed, it is likely that the tank can and will withstand hits. This training is to get the crew used to being under fire and hit by tank rounds. Lastly, this will give the trainees first hand experience at seeing the impact of being hit.

I bet they also supply those trainees a week's worth of panadol after that exercise.

i guess the closest we have to something like that is that ancient gigantic oil barrel lookalike that we do our vehicle overturning drill in.....
i always wonder is that the only piece we have in sungei gedong.....
and pls lah....our tankees already kenna enuf already lah...
fact is that once selected as tankees...
they have to practise and train in a 40 yr old piece of junk...
they have do all the servicing and cleaning of weapon by the 3 crew members themselves.....
and u tell them that at the end of their course,they have to have a shell shot at at them?pls la...
aim mg rounds at the sm1 i already have no confidence....
i done my ns, now doing my reservist...and everytime i i go back in camp with my AI mates,and see them tankees....i really pity them man....
our tankees are really of a good standard..just sad that that all is put to waste in a crap piece of vehicle.... -

come on.. anything that hit the AMX-13 will obliterate it with its entire crew.... -
Young man, always have the mentality to follow others. Our Amx13 is not for u to shoot at one u know. If that "precious" AMX13 spolit. how? Who pay for it? Worst still, u will surely be charged until u "geng" Xiao!

Just to side track abit, our submariners trained in Sweden had a depth charge training in Sweden....That's mean the Swedish Navy will drop depth charges from a safe distance to let the crew experience what it feels like being attack by depth charges...U will see bulbs cracked due to the aftershock of the depth charge explosion....n lots of hidden dust fall out of places that u not manage to clean.....our Defence Minister Teo was being thrown off the chair when he was there to experience the depth charge training....sure scare the shit out of him....too bad Singapore does not provide this type of training here....
