Still, there are bound to be some Malays who don't think the same way.Originally posted by sgdiehard:with your remarks and that of death_burger, glad to know that our national unity reach the level of maturity.
Haha me too i've yet to serve, but when are you going in? Very glad to hear things like this. Singapore needs more men like us to defend our home. Majulah Singapura!Originally posted by death_burger:Hey, personally, I have no problems serving my country and killing my so called 'muslim brothers' in the process. Our forefathers built this nation from nothing, and if anyone threatens to cripple our country, I think ALL of us will have no problems in dealing with these aggressors, regardless of race or religion. Whoever messes with my country is messing with me even if u're a muslim. I'm confident the muslims in s'pore agrees with me. All my muslim friends agree with my opinion, and we have yet to serve national service!!![]()

me 2nd year =) I really hope we do not go to war with malaysia.. In fact i think we should work together with our neighbouring countries for the safety of South East Asia.Originally posted by death_burger:I'm only a first year student in a polytechnic![]()
don't think any singaporean or the garbement wants to go to war with malaysia or anybody. It is important to note that water is a matter of survival for singapore and is not trivial.Originally posted by fartboystinks:Based on the ongoing incidents in South East Asia, I doubt we will really go to war with malaysia because of trivial matters like water or a small island called Pedro Branca; unless some random acts of madness occurs.
As a matter of fact, I hate to see our country fighting malaysia. I believe I am not the only singaporean who has relatives in Malaysia and vice versa. They need us as much as we need them. Without them, there would be no Singapore and without Singapore, I doubt the standard of living of JB is like what it is today.
True, fighting with Malaysia will be really sad cos we are really one people. We eat the same food and it's very hard to even tell the difference between the Singlish that we speak and the "Malaysia-glish" that they speak. This is especially true when you are in a foreign country and you hear someone speaking like us. But upon a friendly enquiry "Singaporeans is it?" they might proudly announce "No, Malaysians lah."Originally posted by fartboystinks:Based on the ongoing incidents in South East Asia, I doubt we will really go to war with malaysia because of trivial matters like water or a small island called Pedro Branca; unless some random acts of madness occurs.

Both, I'd say.Originally posted by tvdog:The question is:
• Did Malaysia opt not to buy,
or
• Did SG opt not to sell?
and yea, there's a third question i feel tat is unanswered..?Originally posted by fudgester:Both, I'd say.
Apparently Brunei is evaluating the Bionix 25 IFV and Bronco ATTC, intending to acquire a small number of each to supplement their small armoured force.Originally posted by gary1910:It is pride and image, how could they display a weapons made in SG where they themselves have no indigeous weapons at all!!!
Anyway as you said, SG have sold weapons to practically all the core ASEAN members, so far I have gathered are as follow:
Thailand:
M-16 rifles.
3 Prabrarapak class FACs
SAR-80s rifles.
Bofor 40mm L/70
CIS 40mm AGL
Philippines:
Ultimax100 SAW
Armbrust LAW
CIS 40mmAGL
2 Blue Horizon UAV
Indonesia:
Ultimax100 SAW
CIS 40mmAGL
CIS 50HMG
In 1997 ,4~5 FH-88s
Upgraded AMX-13s to SM1 standard.
Brunei:
3 Waspada class FACs
300 Armbrust LAW
As you see, most of our neighbours bought weapons from us, I think they dun see us as a threat or strategic reason.
One thing, Brunei is pretty close to us, we practically help them to build up their armed forces, so is there more SG made weapons in Brunei??
