You have no idea how far ahead of them we are technologically, logistically and infrastructurally. And not to mention the kind of intelligence-gathering capabilities the SAF has.

i rather that we're "afraid" of them .... than to become too complacent .... the worst trap we can fall into is to believe that we're superior to our potential enemies .... just because one is smart, one mustn't assume others are idiots .... especially idiots out to kill you ...

rather, i find our northern neighbours are not very friendly.
had this exercise with them once. during the break between some manuveres, some of them made nasty comments about our army to our Malay counterparts. Instead of winning my platoonmates over, they pissed them off instead. -

your case happened before , but slightly different.
One neighbour tried to bribe one of our malay officers .
The name i shall not disclose , but it has happened before.
Looks like on both times it backfired.
When will they start seeing people of one nationality rather then one race? -

i would not want to be cynical about whether our countrymen would shoot our back in an event of a war because of ethnic difference. However, I seriously wonder all these years of National Education and National Service had built patriotism in this young nation or fanned more racial unhappiness.

hey i'm a malay, and in an event of war, i think most malays like me would not hesitate to pop some malay heads in order to defend my country. Think bout this: would u kill ur fellow soldiers whom u have trained with over a stranger juz becoz he's of ur race? Doesnt make sense rite.... Take Taiwan and China as an example... The soldiers in both countries are of the same race but they would not hesitate to go to war with each other if there is a need to do so to defend their country...

Some may hesitate to shoot but I don't think any of them will "backstab" us.
