Two Japanese F-15 fighter jets collide, no injuries
TOKYO - Two Japanese Air Force F-15 fighter jets collided above the Sea of Japan during a training exercise Tuesday but no one was injured, an official said.
The two planes, which were lightly damaged, made emergency landings at their base on Japan's northern island of Hokkaido about 30 minutes after the collision, said the official at Chitose Air Base.
"The accident occurred during a combat exercise. We are now investigating the cause of the accident," he said.
The planes collided about 185 kilometres (100 miles) northwest of the base. - AFP/ir -
