arming a 7 man section

How would you arm a standard SAF 7 man section ensuring that everyone gets a decent loadout and perhaps to make it a little more focus, the section has to be designed to fight in urban and jungle terrain.

Make them carry bulletproof vests as well.
Thick Ceramic plates with Kevlar vest.

Given that the US is dumping M60 for the M240 (aka the GPMG used by SAF), selecting the M60 is already a big step backwards. It's extra weight for no gain in performance.
That must be some MG gunner who can provide cover fire and call for support at the same time - I'm very impressed. -
make all 7 men FAC trained
and call in the airstrikes

Gd luck if the enemy is within a 100metres and none of your FAC men are carry a single weopon between them.

Pointman with- m4/shotgun attachment, binoculars, m92f berreta(silenced),2genrades, 2flashbangs,2 c4 charges to prevent enemy from chasing him incase he gets spotted or for other purpose, 1 claymore mine.
Patrol leader- m4 with red dot scope and handgrip for spraying, m92f berreta,4 gerandes
Radioman which doubles as a gerenaider(support)- m4/m203 and acog scope ,m92 berreta, m18 smoke genrades(red and yellow), flares.
Medic(support)- m4 with reflex scope and handgrip for spraying, m92 berreta, medical equipment,4 genrades
Machine Gunner(support)- m249 saw with handgrip for spraying or m60e3 with handgrip for spraying. m72 law launcher with 4 rockets, 2 genrades, m92 berreta
Marksman- Much Improved M4 with silencer and marksman scope or m21/m14 with silencer/sr 25 sniper with silencer, m92 berreta,2 flashbangs or smokes to conceal themselves if being detected.
Rear security- To prevent ambushes behind, sort of a second pointman.
m4/shotgun and acog scope,2 c4 charges(incase of ambush from behind he can put c4 to prevent enemy from chasing up) 2 flashbangs, 2 genrades, 1 claymore mine, m92 berreta(no point silencing the second pointman's gun cause if he detect an ambush already being found out)
All carry a bag that can store their things and also stores a camel bak pack or 2.5 litres of water
i am no military expert(have not even serve yet) but this is what i think is best
All also armed with k-bar knife -

At times when the enemy is pursueing you, you have no time to aim semi-auto carefully.So just use the handgrip turn to auto and spray, handgrips are better for spreading around the area when shooting

But the development of the pistol grip on rifles is simply an offshoot of improved ergonomics. It is just more comfortable to shoot a rifle with a pistol grip, unlike on a traditional rifle where the shooter would have to 'cock' his wrist at a roughly 45-degree angle in order to shoot it. When carrying a rifle with a pistol grip, your wrist is allowed to stay straight and inline with your lower arm, which is simply more comfortable.
I don't see how it makes it easier to spread your shots, but it does make it more comfortable. -

7 men with personal role radios like the royal army, old school or mesh type SBO with NO plates ... plates protection are well and good, but they are heavy as hell, and hot too ... considering the average built of our soldiers, it might be more of a hinderance than help ... it's better that you're able to run faster than to be slow and "protected"
2 x M16A4 series with rail, with reflex sights
2 x M16A4 with M203, reflex sights as well, with reflex quadrant sights for the M203 ( the old quadrant sight is a pain isn't it ... )
1 x M16A4 with ACOG 3X sharpshooter scope
2 x U100 SAW with ACOG scoop
each man gets 8 mags plus one in weapon (1.5 contact rate) plus another another 120 loose rounds in backpack, 1 smoke, 2 frags, (two riflemen carry 1 more coloured smoke each for TAG), 2 matadors, 4 claymores, bayonets, grenadiers carry 12 HEDP and 4 Star shells ... SAW men gets 2 x 100 round mags with the sling baggie carrier for sustained support fire
the reason why i chose the full sized M-16 is because of the longer range and accuracy a long barrel gives, those who have shot carbine and M-16 before will know what i mean ... a niffy little weapon is nice to look at and lug around, but give me a full sized rifle anyday ... (that's why strike coys stick with M-16s instead of carbines)
FIBUA/Urban:
same as above, but with plates this time, FIBUA is a whole different ball game, but yeah, the weight will still be a bitch to lug around, vest type SBO for carrying heavier loads, carbines instead of full sized because of length considerations, accuracy is not quite an issue in FIBUA,
2 x M4A1 carbine with reflex sights
2 x M4/M203 combo with reflex sights and reflex quadrant sights
1 x M4A1 with ACOG 3X scope (section sharpshooter)
2 x U100 SAW
each man carries 12 x mag on vest plus 1 in weapon, plus 120 rounds loose in backpack, 2 smokes, 6 frags, bayonet/fighting knife, 5 x matador (SAW excempt), SAW man carries drum mags as above also, claymores replaced by C4/Block 3 with the standard paraphernalia, det cords etc ... each man gets a smaller combat backpack (something like the old scout pack, anyone has seen one of those before ? but i'm thinking of something slightly bigger actually).
MGs and special application weapons like sniper rifles are nice, but should be platoon assets at the minimum i think, unless you're a spec ops unit on specialized missions, for a generic infantry section, things like that doesn't quite earn a place in the load out to me ... also, no one will complain of too much ammo or grenades ... untill one has to lug it around on you ... weight = no good ... and this is especially true for smaller built chaps like us ... but i think i'm pushing the weight boundary here already ... -
ALSO mission specific, Special forces have a definate objective most os the time, while soldiers objectives constantly changes.My arming is that for special forces.
