It doesn't look very good on the soldier in the picture most probably due to the colour and the material used on the exterior to cover the helmet. But in war looks doesn't matter much. The third link's article says that the new helmet is slightly smaller(8%) than the one its replacing. Come to think of it,it really looked a bit small in the picture. The article warned of more casualties(30%) in Iraq and Afganistan due to this slight decrease in size. Can anyone find some info on the helmet we are using now to make a comparism? Then maybe we can see whether we also need to have a replacement. Thanks

look towards the various MICH types [modern helmets fielded by special forces well before take up of the ACH by other mainstream forces] as to where the ACH is coming from.
the problem with the picture shown here is the cover on the helmet.
the cover is a little large for the size of helmet - take the cover off and you'll see similarities with the MICH.
