Ghost Recon 3: Possible reality?

  As an avid military and computer gamer (of cos I noe the difference between reality & a game), I looked thru the stuff of the upcoming Ghost Recon 3. Besides having dazzling graphics (which game doesnt now?), the idea of how an "Advanced Warfighter" is supposed to operate seemed so... unreal to me. Ok, all the "teh-neh-neh" technology seemed kick-ass, with the Cross-com technology (fictional?) and all tat digital displays in your glasses, but are such measures practical? Surely the amount of money spent on a SINGLE infantry's technology would cost a bomb rite? Not to mention an entire battalion/regiment. Share your thoughts!

  The Ghosts are supposed to be the elite of the elite.
  
  Funding them with such technology may not be cheap per soldier, but having and outfit like that does help.
  
  Imagine that, ur fire control orders are all digital.
  
  I've thought of such a system like that before. Basically, we'd have a advanced visor/helmet that can paint a target with a beam of non-visible laser. The aimpoint would be something fixed at a natural centre.
  
  The men would have receptors, that would be able to see the beam, and the visor would indicate which direction to turn the head in order to have the "painted" target in view.
  
  Now if u can add a mini-battle management system to it, a small computer that stores the range & heading of the system, u'd be able to "store" multiple targets, and engage them according to the sect comd's prioritization.

  Hmm, gd pt tere Shotgun. We all noe tat US is already developing such technology, but of cos still in infant stages. Guess the onlie thing in the game tat exists are the XM-8 rifles then..
  
  But wouldn't such dependence on technology be limited? Ok, having a UAV to send info to ur visor sounds cool, but sooner or later some genius wld come up wif some EMP shit to disrupt all the digital jargon rite? I'm not totally against technology in warfare of cos, as it helps a lot. But I guess sometimes the ol'fashioned style Chain-of-Command and infantry tactics are better.. It all depends on situation I guess.. I cant imagine how "Cross-com" technology can help in jungle warfare. All tat dense canopy will be blocking ur UAV rite.. LoL! Unless of cos the UAV is equipped wif thermal image sensors..

  Without a doubt EMP will disrupt such systems. But how many EMP weapons can there be to be wasted on a small section of men?
