  reliable signal set with encription
  5 smoke (2 coloured) and 4 frag grenades

  It shocked me thoroughly that so many of you did not mention a FLASHLIGHT?! Maybe I pa jiao nv see lah, but I tink a flashlight wld come in extremely handy when reading maps or stuff at nite.. UNDER A LIGHT-IMPERMEABLE PONCHO at nite of cos..

  Heavy or light...Claymores are a must for every recon man..For trail watching missions especially, when compromised.. the shitz hits the fan..KABOOM..double to the PZ.
  
  Trackers on your tail, 6 men Lrrp TEAM 2IC stay behind to activate the claymore to counter and delay enemy movement...double to RV or PZ

  claymore... so hiong ah... wah scared sia. anyway why u all never bring string one ah... can set booby trap incase u no more claymore. Flashlight... hmmm some got lighter and nvg... ok lor add raincoat then no need flash light liao.

  Someone needs to show you how to rig a grenade as a booby trap. It's probably faster than setting up a claymore.
  
  Not to mention a heck of a lot lighter than carrying 2!

  Simple. Claymore , minimal backblast, maximum frontal impact. You can control claymore fire.
  
  Grenade booby trap..are leaving to chances, if no one trggers the booby trap..you have got trackers on your tail.
  
  I used to be LRRP team leader (not SAF). Our Platoon SOP, standard 2 claymore per section.
