Air Defence Weapons
All land-based air defence systems, including air defence radars, surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) and anti-aircraft artillery are operated by the air force's Air Defence Systems Division (ADSD). ADSD's Divisional Air Defence Artillery Brigade is responsible for the tactical air defence of the army formations and deploys Mistral, RBS-70 and SA-18 Igla SAM systems.

I believe that the FN P90 was missed out of the small arms list. Since the P90 is being used can it be said that the commandos are also using the FN Five-Seven since it was designed to complement the P90? Can anyone confirm this?

1. Note Six Formidable-class frigates have been ordered. The first, RSS Formidable, is due to arrive in Singapore in May 2005 and enter service in 2007. The second, RSS Intrepid, was actually the first to be built in Singapore and was launched in July 2004 and RSS Steadfast was launched in January 2005.
2. RSS Courageous was struck by a Dutch-registered merchant ship on 3 January 2003, suffering serious damage in the process.
3. Perseverance and Jupiter decommissioned in September 2001; Perseverance was sold to a private company in 2003.

SFG 87 Smoke Grenade
SFG 87 stands for Standard Fragmentation Grenade. Anyone knows what 87 stands for? Can't be the year as this was issued long before 1987.
Threw one during BMT.
Smoke grenades comes in a canister shape while while the SFG 87 has the typical spherical metal body of most fragmentation handgrenades. Green in colour and comes packed in a round white styrofoam container.
I don't believe the SR88 was ever adopted.
The SAR 80 was adopted for limited use due to its ability to have folding stock. But wasn't popular cos it looked awful and is heavier than M-16. It was paraded by the OCS contingent during the 1984 NDP and probably never seen again.
A quantity was sold to Croatia, I think, as was the Ultimax 100. -

The MAG incorporates a Model 34/44 Water Twister energy absorber, and can be supplied with a conventional hook cable for arrestment of hook-equipped aircraft, a stanchion/net system for emergency overrun operations, or a combined hook cable/stanchion.
