Reminds me of the time when we had literally a few cats and dogs living in our company line. We were housed in a 3 storey old British building in SBMT. Lots of space. We collected these animals because back in the mid 80s the HDB was clearing a lot of land around Marsiling to build flats. A lot of small villages were affected and the residents who left , abandoned their animals to their fate.
Also used to keep aquariums in the platoon offices. -

Yeah sort of. Until one day, our company storeman found one of our kittens run over by a landrover. It was dying slowly and miserably. One of the PCs and myself ( a PS) ... we like the animals... but we did not know what to do with the dying kitten. It was brought into our company games room. He and I sat there wondering if we should kill it (put it out of its misery) by breaking its neck???? The difficult thing was to motivate each other to do it. Funny and heartbreaking... 2 guys in camouflage and pretty senior in the company, considered by our troops to be one of the more macho guys around..... at a loss about the dying kitten.Originally posted by sgboy2004:unofficial SPCA?
In the end. we suffocated it to put it out of its pain. Its back was broken and the kitten was shitting uncontrollably and also every now and then it was in spasms which caused a lot of pain.
From that time on, we gave up on having too many animals. -

sadly the evil sergeant ordered the kittens be taken to the vet downstairs, mother taken away by AVA. she was crying inside the cage the day it was taken away. -

You guys have animals in your company lines, I have them right in the laundry room on my floor!
Initially, the pregnant cat ventured into my bunk, and was about to give birth to her litter right on the floor under one of my platoon mate's bed. He nearly went ballastic... so did the cat. It tried to claw us when we attempted to retrieve it, but eventually a brave soul caught her up and brought her to settle inside a box in a secluded area of the camp.
But as fate would have it, she went back up to our floor, this time choosing the room where we hang stinky uniforms to dry (some without washing them, should I add?). The birth itself gave off a stink that mixed with the musk of pherohormones, and we gagged each time we passed the laundry room on our way to the toilet.
The CSM ordered them out of the building, which we did, placing them in a box somewhere else this time, but eventually they found their way back to the laundry room, earning themselves a permanent residence among styrofoam boxes, unused mattresses, and a whole lot of stinking uniform...
Adding to the reputation for my camp being a zoo, we have a dog which likes to hang around an abandoned building on the far end of the camp, howling the daylights out of trembling prowlers whom were already hesitant about approaching the darkened building...
From the descriptions, try guessing out my camp.
