Have anyone seen them? I once saw a Ah moh wearing SAF uniform with the rank of captain during the 2002 NDP parade...just curious

Why single out the Caucasians? There are PRs who choose to go thru NS and are not Caucasian y'know. Anyway, they have chosen to go thru NS even tho they can leave. Gives us food for thought about all our complaining, i think.

big deal. there's a ang mo MAJ in my camp. last time got 1 colleague who is a ang mo/malay mix.

I don't see how that gives us food for thought. PRs who go thru NS probably see it as an improvement to be a citizen here. Ultimately it all boils down to a matter of choice. The only gripe which I think most Singaporeans have is that, we don't get to choose. It's almost as if Singaporeans are being born into indentureship. And thankfully, most singaporeans have the common sense to see that, which, IMO, is why the label 'quitter' never really stuck on.
I for one, can understand if a fellow singaporean sees NS as a waste of 2 years. In fact, one would wonder why we don't have the foreign legion route to a Singapore PR/citizenship instead. So yah, there's no food on the table for thought here, I think. -

The easiest I can think of offhand is Australia. But even then you need to have substantial interests (such as a property, or having graduated/worked in aust) before you can even think about applying.
Anyway coupled with the fact that it has to be done before you're 18 complicates things a lot. No country, singapore inclusive, would take in an 18 year old, more often then not unskilled and with little to no assets to his name.
So yah, i suppose in theory, you're right. You do have a choice but come on, you weren't really thinking when you posted this right? -

The last time I saw him he was still Major. That was about 1+ years back. So that means recently promoted lar.
He's not really ang moh i think. Most prob a bit mixed.
Besides... I didn't really have a good impression of him. -
i'm not sure if he has posted out already. but frm wat i noe. he should be taking appt as one of the engr CO and probably be holding a concurrent appt as CI of engr trg inst.
but den i didnt see him ard for quite some time.. maybe really post out liao...

I had an Angmoh (bred locally) spec in BMT also. Hahahaha.
I think its cool to have a few ang mohs in our armed service. The Americans come here that time, see liao also blur.
I heard there is an Ang Moh navy officer also rite? -
One of my BMT platoon mates was an ang moh. He did well. Went to CDO and also got selected for OCT. Not sure where he is now. Goes back some time ago.
