The Chief of Defence Forces of the Malaysia Armed Forces (MAF), Admiral (ADM) Tan Sri Dato Sri Mohd Anwar bin Hj Mohd Nor, accompanied by a delegation of MAF senior officers, visited HQ Armour at Sungei Gedong Camp on 24 June.
This visit was hosted by CDF, LG Ng Yat Chung and Chief Armour Officer, BG Wong Ann Chai. ADM Anwar had a hands-on experience operating vehicle weapon system simulators at the Armour Gunnery Tactical Simulator Centre. He also drove cross-country in an All Terrain Tracked Carrier (ATTC) and viewed a mobility display of Bionix and ATTC vehicles at the Advanced Driving Circuit.
The visit culminated at an exhilarating display of gunnery and firepower during a Tactical Team Live Firing Demonstration involving 452nd Battalion Singapore Armoured Regiment, commanded by LTC Luke Cheong. The display reflected the operational readiness of our Operationally-Ready National Servicemen in precision gunnery skills. ADM Anwar also had a first-hand experience of the reliability and accuracy of our weapons systems as he successfully engaged targets with the Bionix 25mm Bushmaster cannon.
